I am preparing for an exam that will be a valuable investment in my professional life. If we remain in Jesus, we can ask for anything. I am asking for prayers to help me pass the exam with 100% — not just for the sake of perfectionism, but because I know it is possible. Thankfully, God has blessed me with 100% results before, and I believe it can happen again. I don't know the exact date of the exam yet, but please pray for that as well. Thank you. We hear your heart, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Your desire to excel in this exam is not merely about perfectionism but about stewarding the gifts and opportunities God has given you. We rejoice with you in the past successes He has granted, and we declare that what He has done before, He can, and will, do again.

First, we want to address the foundation of your request: your reliance on Jesus Christ. You rightly acknowledge that if we remain in Him, we can ask for anything, and it will be done (John 15:7). This is a powerful promise, but it is rooted in abiding in Christ, seeking His will above our own, and aligning our desires with His purposes. We encourage you to continue seeking Him not just for the outcome of the exam but for wisdom, discipline, and peace as you prepare. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We also lift up your concern about being behind schedule. It is easy to feel overwhelmed when life’s demands, like moving house and physical exhaustion, compete with our goals. But we serve a God who is not bound by our timelines. Psalm 31:15 says, "My times are in your hand." We pray that you would release the pressure of self-imposed deadlines and instead trust in God’s perfect timing. He is the one who renews our strength when we wait on Him (Isaiah 40:31). Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister as they prepare for this exam. Lord, You are the giver of wisdom and knowledge, and we ask that You would grant them clarity of mind, retention of what they have studied, and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that You are their strength in weakness, their refuge in times of weariness, and their provider in every need. Father, we ask that You would renew their physical and mental energy, removing every distraction and filling them with Your supernatural focus. Raise up a practice partner who will encourage and sharpen them, just as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Lord, we trust You to order their steps and open the door for the perfect exam date, one that aligns with Your timing and allows them to be fully prepared. We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and procrastination in Jesus’ name, and we declare that they will walk in the confidence of Your promises. May this exam not only be a professional investment but a testimony to Your faithfulness. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, amen.

Now, let us address the request for a "practice partner." While accountability and support are biblical and valuable, we must ensure that any close partnership, especially if it involves a member of the opposite sex, is pursued with purity and the intention of honoring God. If this practice partner is someone you are considering for courtship, remember that the goal of such relationships should always be marriage to a fellow believer, as Scripture commands (2 Corinthians 6:14, 1 Corinthians 7:39). Guard your heart and your boundaries, and seek the Lord’s guidance in all relationships.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to surrender your desire for 100% to the Lord. While it is good to strive for excellence, we must also remember that our worth is not defined by our achievements but by Christ’s finished work on the cross. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Whether the outcome is 100% or not, God’s plans for you are good, and His grace is sufficient (Jeremiah 29:11, 2 Corinthians 12:9).

Press on, dear one. The God who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). We are standing with you in faith, believing for His best in this season.

Right now, the most important thing you can do is give your body the rest it’s asking for. Tiredness like you’re describing isn’t just mental fog, it’s a signal. If the fatigue lingers, please don’t dismiss it; a quick check‑up with a doctor can rule out anything physical and give you peace of mind. In the meantime, break your study plan into small, doable chunks, and celebrate finishing each one instead of focusing on how far behind you feel. That small shift can lower the pressure and make the path ahead less overwhelming.

You mentioned wanting a practice partner, that’s a wise and very practical request. Consider reaching out to someone in your church or professional circle, even briefly. The body of Christ is meant to carry one another’s burdens, and having someone to study with can sharpen your focus and lift your spirits. We’ll ask God to bring the right person alongside you quickly.

We also hear your confidence that God can do what He has done before. That’s not perfectionism; it’s faith built on real experience. So we join you in bringing it all to Him.

Lord Jesus, You see this one who is weary yet pressing on. Renew their strength in body and mind. Guide them to a trustworthy practice partner and surround them with steady support. Give clarity about the exam date, calm their anxiety, and help them prepare well. As they entrust this exam to You, let them pass with excellence and use this milestone for their good and Your glory. Amen.

The burdens you bear at this time, the weariness of body, the distractions of moving house, the missed opportunity, are but the common lot of those who would serve the Lord in their daily calling. Yet it is precisely in such moments that we learn where our strength truly lies. "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength," and this He does not by removing all hindrances, but by imparting His own might in the midst of them. When the eagle grows faint, it does not flutter in the lowlands; it mounts into the pure upper air, and there, breathing the clear azure, its youth is renewed. Even so, you must rise on the wings of prayer to that blessed atmosphere where the Spirit of God revives the soul. Feed upon Christ, the true bread from heaven, and your strength shall be restored, though the outward man decays.

You desire to pass with full marks, and it is not amiss to seek excellence, for whatsoever is worth doing is worth doing with all one’s might. Yet remember that the glory of our strength lies not in the score itself, but in the God who gives the power. If He grants you a perfect result, let it be for His honour; if He orders otherwise, it may be to teach you a deeper dependence. Satan will surely try to cast you down as you come to this mountain, as he did the poor child in the Gospel, tearing him before the deliverance came. But Christ can rebuke the unclean spirit, and the child shall be healed. Bring your exam, your weariness, your need of a companion in study, all to Him who cares for you.

As for a practice partner, wait upon the Lord; He can raise up a Jonathan for your David, a fellow-helper in this labour. Perhaps He will send one who shares your faith, that together you may sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron. Until then, let your waiting be not idle, but active in setting before you the task and trusting for strength day by day.

You are behind schedule, but God’s time is always right. He that believeth shall not make haste. In waiting upon Him, you renew your strength; strength not of the flesh, but of the Spirit, strength to labour, strength to endure, strength to overcome. When you have no strength of your own, then fling yourself upon Divine strength, and you shall find that He Himself will strengthen you. Is it not written, “I will strengthen them”? And shall He not do it?

Serve the Lord with gladness in this season of study, knowing that it is a part of your reasonable service. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength. And as you mount up with wings as eagles, you shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. To Him be the glory of your strength, both now and in the day when the exam is behind you and you stand approved, not by a human examiner alone, but by the smile of your Master, saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

You ask for prayers to pass an exam with a perfect score, believing it is possible because you remain in Christ, and He has granted such results before. You also confess weariness, a delayed schedule, and the upheaval of moving house, and you seek a practice partner and renewed strength. Let us reason together from the holy words you have embraced.

When our Lord says, “If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you,” He does not loose the bridle of our desires nor make petition a thing of no labour. The promise hangs upon the condition: abiding. And what is it to abide in Him but to walk even as He walked, to have His words dwelling in us richly, so that our will is bent clean away from every soft and earthly longing? He that is truly grafted into the Vine asks with the mind of the Vine. The branch does not cry out for its own adornment but for fruit that glorifies the Husbandman. Therefore examine the root of this petition. Why do you ask for a hundred, and not rather enough to serve your neighbor and give occasion for thanksgiving? Is it offered as a burnt-sacrifice of diligence, or has a secret affection for human glory crept in? The desire for exactness in learning is no sin, but the settled demand for a perfect outward result, as though God were the steward of our ambitions, can quietly turn the soul from the Kingdom to the schoolroom. Let us prepare the feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. If you ask for anything, let it be that, whether you gain much or little in the eyes of men, your life and conduct may be worthy of the Gospel, and your heart kept in that peace which the world cannot give.

Now, concerning your weariness and the missed examination date: do not be dismayed, for the hindrances of the body and the cares of this life are the very whetstones of virtue, if you use them soberly. You have suffered a little loss of time and the vexation of a tired frame. Yet what is this to the prize? The malice of circumstance cannot harm a soul resolved on God. The outward man perishes, the house is shifted from one street to another, the body droops; but the inward man is renewed day by day when the spirit of the mind is made new. That renewal does not come by a smooth path but through the rough places where patience is forged. You ask for renewed strength. Good: but be content to receive it as He is pleased to give, not as you would prescribe. He often sends the practice partner in the form of a trial that teaches the soul to lean less on human aid and more on the Comforter. He may quicken your memory not by a sudden flash but by steady self-denial and mastery of sleep, so that what you sow in tears you reap with a glad heart. The very interruptions you lament might be the pruning of the Vine-dresser, clearing the branch of clutter so it may bear more fruit in due season.

Let your request, then, be reformed according to the pattern of the divine love. Pray thus: “Lord, grant me such success as pleases Thee, and with it a humble and watchful spirit. If I gain the full mark, may it be as a sacrifice of praise; if I fall short in the sight of men, may I fall short nowhere in integrity and peace. Give me a companion in study after Thine own wisdom, and if Thou seest fit to leave me to labor alone, then stand Thou closer than any human teacher. Strengthen my body for honest work, but far more strengthen my inner man that I may wear the shield of faith, which keeps the whole armor of virtue unbroken, whether I am examined by men or by the Day that reveals all secrets.”

When you have trusted yourself thus entirely to the Husbandman, cease from anxiety. Perform your part diligently, for the branch must abide in the Vine and yield itself to the cleansing hand. But the result, the hundredfold or the sixtyfold, belongs to the Owner of the harvest. Walk carefully, not as unwise but as wise, and the peace of Christ will stand guard over your heart. Whether you sit for this exam next week or next month, whether a helper appears or the room remains quiet, you are not behind schedule in the calendar of grace. For the One who began a good work in you is faithful, and He will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus, not according to the swiftness of the world, but by that deep renewal which gradually transforms the old man into newness of life.

When you find yourself out of steam and behind on everything, it is so easy to reach for a self-help plan or frantically try to patch things together. Yet that very place of exhaustion and need is where real prayer begins. Not the prayer that bargains with God or tries to convince Him you can handle it if He just gives a little boost, but the honest cry: Lord, I cannot do this. I need You. That is the place David lived again and again when enemies surrounded him and his own strength was gone. He did not look to human resources or the arm of flesh; he looked to God as his high tower, his buckler, his strength.

Missing the exam date because life overwhelmed you feels like a setback, but even this can become an opportunity to stop trusting in your own ability to keep everything on track. The arm of flesh, with all its chariots and horsemen, fails us. Our best scheduling, our willpower, even a practice partner, cannot carry us through if we are relying on them instead of on the Lord. So while you ask for a partner and renewed strength, be careful that your deepest confidence is not in those things. They are secondary helps that God may send, but He alone is your defender.

As for the exam itself, it is not wrong to ask for a perfect score, but hold that request with an open hand. The subtle voice that whispers, “You must get 100% because you know it’s possible,” can sometimes sound spiritual but come from the very same place Peter’s words came from when he urged ease instead of the cross. Measure your desire against Scripture: is your pursuit of that mark drawing you closer to humble dependence on Christ, or is it quietly shifting your trust onto your own performance? God is not waiting to bless you only if you achieve a certain number. He wants to be your strength in the process, however the results unfold.

You are in a season where you feel dry, physically spent, and perhaps a little lost. This is not a sign that God has abandoned you. David often wrote of fleeing into the wilderness, afraid and uncertain, yet in those moments he learned to say, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” When you turn the whole mess over to God in prayer, something changes inside you. The problem remains, but you are lifted from an attitude of defeat into the confidence that God is working. He is your help, and He will not forsake you when your strength fails.

So pray boldly: “Make haste, O God, to help me! You are my strength and my deliverer; do not delay.” Ask Him to send the right partner if that is His will, to restore your body, and to redeem the time you lost. But above all, ask Him to be your portion. When you lie down at night and when you sit for that exam, may you know that your ultimate help comes from the sanctuary, not from Egypt. The Lord is the strength of your life; of whom shall you be afraid?
