I am preparing for an exam that will be a valuable investment in my professional life. If we remain in Jesus, we can ask for anything. I am asking for prayers to help me pass the exam with 100% — not just for the sake of perfectionism, but because I know it is possible. Thankfully, God has blessed me with 100% results before, and I believe it can happen again. I don't know the exact date of the exam yet, but please pray for that as well. Thank you. We know that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Your faith in His ability to grant you success is commendable, and we join you in believing that He can indeed bless you with excellence in this endeavor.

However, we must gently remind you that while we can ask for specific outcomes, our ultimate desire should be for God’s will to be done, not our own. Jesus Himself prayed, "Not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). It is good to strive for excellence, but we must also surrender the outcome to God, trusting that His plans for you are perfect, even if they differ from your own. Perfectionism can sometimes become an idol, shifting our focus from God’s glory to our own achievements. Let us pray that your heart remains fixed on Him, not on the score you hope to achieve.

We also notice your request for a "practice partner." While seeking support in your studies is wise, we must encourage you to ensure that any close relationships you form are God-honoring and aligned with biblical principles. If this person is of the opposite sex, we urge you to approach this with wisdom, purity, and the intention of marriage if the relationship deepens. The Bible warns us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23). If this person is meant to be a godly spouse, let your interactions be marked by holiness, accountability, and a shared commitment to Christ.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister as they prepare for this important exam. Lord, You are the giver of wisdom and understanding, and we ask that You grant them clarity of mind, retention of knowledge, and peace as they study. Help them to manage their time wisely and to prioritize their tasks according to Your will. Father, we pray for renewed strength, physically, mentally, and spiritually, so that they may overcome fatigue and press on toward their goal. Provide them with the support they need, whether through a study partner, encouragement from loved ones, or Your own sustaining grace.

Lord, we ask that You would guide them in choosing the right exam date, one that allows them to be fully prepared and at their best. We pray that You would remove any distractions or obstacles that might hinder their focus. Above all, we ask that Your will be done in this situation. If it is Your plan for them to achieve 100%, we believe You are able to make it happen. But if Your purpose is different, help them to trust in Your goodness and sovereignty.

Father, we also pray for their heart. Guard them against pride, anxiety, or perfectionism, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let this season of preparation draw them closer to You, reminding them that their worth is found in Christ alone, not in their achievements.

We pray for any relationships that may form during this time, asking that You would lead them to godly connections that honor You. If this practice partner is meant to be a future spouse, prepare their heart and theirs for a marriage that glorifies You. Keep them pure in thought and deed, and let their interactions be a testimony to Your love.

The strength you need to mount up with wings as eagles is not a strength you may store up beforehand, nor a vigor you can kindle from your own fading frame. Tiredness and the drain of moving house have shown you what you already know in your spirit, that the creature's power soon spends itself. When the exam date slipped past and weariness clung to your limbs, it was but a visible parable of a deeper truth: your own natural force will always fail you. Do not despise these reminders, for they are sent to drive you to the only unfailing source.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. There is the secret. Not a frantic striving, not a feverish anxiety over schedules and tasks, but a humble, dependent, patient waiting. Cast your nothingness upon His omnipotence. When you are linked to God and wait upon Him for everything, then your strength returns. As the eagle renews its youth by feeding and breathing the upper air, so must you feed upon Christ and breathe the atmosphere of heaven through prayer. The pure air of communion with the Most High, up there in the clear azure of His presence where all is bright, will restore your soul long before the earthly examination comes. Seek that renewal first, and the secondary matters will fall into their place.

Do not think that your request for a perfect score is too trivial for the throne of grace, yet remember that the glory of our strength lies in God alone. Mental power, skill in study, the recall of facts, all these gifts ascend from the same hand that formed your mind. It is right to ask, to seek, to knock with importunate earnestness. But let your ultimate confidence rest not in the percentage you achieve, but in the God who gives strength exactly suited to the day. As your days, so shall your strength be. Not tomorrow's strength today, not a hoarded surplus to feed pride, but a daily, sufficient grace that humbles the receiver and magnifies the Giver. If He grants you one hundred-fold success, it will be that you may serve Him with the talent entrusted. If He ordains otherwise, it will be to teach you a deeper dependence, which is a far greater gain than any earthly qualification.

For the practice partner you seek and the support you desire, cast that request into the same mighty hand. God knows the channel through which help will come. Perhaps He will use your very weakness as the magnet to draw a fellow-believer into your life, one who will not only drill the material but lift up holy hands alongside you. Let your renewed strength show itself practically, go forward to renewed action, but go forward in the joy of the Lord, which is your unfailing fortress.

The joy of the Lord is your strength. This is not a mere giddy lightness, but a deep, quiet confidence in Christ. The man full of this joy crouches in the fullness of his strength; he waits calmly, knowing that the outcome lies with his heavenly Father. Let this joy be your portion. It springs from resting on Christ alone, from knowing that if you never pass another earthly test, you have already passed the great eternal proving-ground through the blood and righteousness of Jesus. Let that gospel truth be the main strength of all your pursuits. The cross of Christ is a surer foundation than any professional credential.

Therefore, come often before the Lord with a renewed consecration. Tell Him your deadlines and your tiredness, but tell Him also that you trust His ordering even more than your own desire. When the Spirit of the Lord moves upon you, go out and take the appointed task in the strength He supplies. And as you pray, do not cease praying until the answer is plain. Knock with the whole earnestness of your being, for the kingdom of heaven suffers such holy violence. The Lord will strengthen you; He has declared it. And when He does, whether by a perfectly timed revision partner or a supernatural sharpening of your memory, give Him all the glory and use the gained strength for His praise.

Your request for prayer has been heard, and we will join you in calling upon the Lord who gives wisdom generously to all who ask in faith. The desire to prepare well and even to achieve a perfect result need not spring from vanity; you have tasted God’s help before, and that memory is a seed of hope. Yet look at the trials that have already arisen: bodily weariness, the upheaval of moving house, falling behind, missing the nearest examination date. Do not let these things discourage you. Perseverance in the face of obstacles is precisely what proves our trust to be genuine. The Canaanite woman received not many words of promise, but a seeming rebuff, yet because she held fast, she obtained mercy for her daughter. So for you, this delay and weakness may be the very soil in which a greater grace will grow.

But let your perseverance be joined to almsgiving. The medicine of prayer is mingled with this essential herb, and the Scripture says plainly, “Water will quench a flaming fire, and alms will do away with great sins.” As you ask for renewed strength, a practice partner, and a fruitful examination, give what you can to those in need. Let your hands be open, and you will find the channels of mercy open toward you.

Pray at all times, not only when the date is set or the books are before you. Lift up your heart in the silence of your weariness; bring your need before God with importunity like the widow before the unjust judge. She would not be turned away, and her persistence won her cause. If an unjust heart can be moved by repetition, how much more the Father of mercies, who knows your needs already? I will pray that you are granted a suitable companion for study, and that the exact date, when it comes, finds you calm and well prepared. But also pray this: that whether you gain a perfect mark or simply a faithful effort, you may possess the peace of Christ, which is not measured by any human scale. He who upheld you before can uphold you again; do not lose heart.

I will pray specifically for renewed vigor in your spirit and body, for a practice partner to come alongside you, and for wisdom to order your study without crushing weariness. Ultimately, your security rests on the One who upholds you, not merely on a perfect score. May He fill you with His strength and peace as you prepare.
