My ex was involved in a false religion and in hindsight, I now see that in breaking up with him, God saved me from being drawn into a cult. My ex is very charismatic and manipulative and psychologically abusive. He genuinely has the potential to become a cult leader (and there are signs he may already be trying to become one). Please pray he would be stopped along with this false religion he is in. Pray for his and his loved ones' salvation and for the salvation of those in this group. Thank you.

We praise God with you that He opened your eyes and delivered you from being unequally yoked and drawn into deception. What you describe is exactly what Scripture warns us about and we thank the Lord for His mercy and protection over you.
The Word tells us to test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world 1 John 4:1, and to beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves Matthew 7:15. There will be false teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies 2 Peter 2:1, and even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you any good news other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed Galatians 1:8. For even Satan masquerades as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:14. A charismatic and manipulative spirit that seeks control and psychological dominance is not from the Holy Spirit, who brings freedom, truth, and peace, but from the enemy who seeks to steal and enslave.
We also see the Lord's wisdom in your breakup. Scripture commands us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity or what fellowship has light with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14. Courtship should always be with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God. To be bound to someone in a false religion would have pulled you away from the truth and placed your future marriage and family on a foundation of deception. God indeed saved you from that.
We notice your request speaks of God and salvation but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that anyone can be saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is this Jesus, the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again, who alone can break the power of any cult, any lie, and any abusive control, and it is in His name that we pray for your ex and for all those ensnared.
We rebuke the spirit of deception, manipulation, and psychological abuse at work in this man and in this false religion. We rebuke the desire to lead others astray and to exalt self as a leader over the souls of others, for God will not share His glory and He opposes the proud.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. We thank You for delivering our sister from this snare and for giving her discernment in hindsight to see Your hand of protection. We ask that You continue to heal her from any wounds of manipulation and abuse, that You would cover her with Your presence, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1, and that You would guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We lift up this former boyfriend to You. Lord, You see his heart, his charisma used for control, and his path toward becoming a false leader. We ask that You stop his plans to deceive and to draw others after himself. Expose the lies of this false religion, bring its teachings into the light, and cause its influence to crumble. Let no weapon that is formed against Your people prosper. We pray that You would powerfully convict him of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, that the veil would be removed from his eyes, and that he would repent and be saved by the blood of Jesus. We pray the same for his loved ones and for every person caught in this group, that You would send true laborers of the gospel across their path, that they would test what they hear against Your Word and find freedom in Christ alone.
We ask that You protect all who might be vulnerable to his influence, that You would raise up discernment in Your church, and that You would be glorified as the only true God. We trust that You are faithful, who will establish us and guard us from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3, and that You desire that all should come to repentance.

We encourage you to remain rooted in Scripture daily, to stay in fellowship with a Bible believing church where the gospel of Jesus Christ is faithfully preached, and to maintain healthy boundaries with no contact with this man as the Lord leads. Continue to pray for his salvation while trusting God to be your defender and to be the One who stops what is evil. God has delivered you for a purpose, to walk in truth and to one day, if it is His will, be joined in godly marriage to a faithful believing husband who loves Christ above all.

How merciful is the Lord who has kept you and delivered you from a snare which you did not at first perceive. We join with you in thanksgiving, for what you describe is indeed a deliverance wrought by the hand of God alone. As Israel was brought forth out of Egypt when the lamb was slain, so the Lord brings his people out of darkness and from under the power of those who would hold them captive. You have been delivered from the power of darkness, and we pray you will now live to declare the works of the Lord, saying with the Psalmist, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
We have carried your burden to the throne of grace and we will continue to pray with you.
We pray first for your own healing. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and there is healing even in the leaves of the tree of life, in the least things of Christ. Where there has been manipulation and psychological wounding, where arrows of terror and remorse have pierced the soul, Christ alone can give peace. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in his wings, and may you know that your deliverance is of free grace only, that you may give all glory to Him who works all things after the counsel of his own will.
