Ex

We are lifting you up together before the Lord and we thank you for reaching out for prayer for healing from this psychologically abusive relationship. We want you to know that God sees what you have endured, He cares deeply about your pain, and what was done to you through manipulation, control, demeaning words or emotional cruelty is not from Him and is not His design for how people are to treat one another. The Lord calls us to love one another as He has loved us and love is patient and is kind, it does not dishonor others or seek to harm, as we are reminded in 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. Psychological abuse is sin against God and against you, and we rebuke that sin and grieve that you have suffered it.

We pray for your complete healing and restoration in Christ. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit as Psalm 34:18 tells us, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds as Psalm 147:3 promises. The enemy and an abusive person may have spoken lies over you about your worth, your identity and your future, but God speaks truth over you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:14, you are His child, you are valued and you are deeply loved. We pray that He will renew your mind and replace those lies with His truth, that He will give you His peace which surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and your thoughts in Christ Jesus as in Philippians 4:7, and that He will strengthen you and uphold you as He promises in Isaiah 41:10.

We encourage you to walk in wisdom as you heal. Forgiveness as Christ commands in Ephesians 4:32 is for your freedom before the Lord and does not mean you must reconcile or return to an abusive person or place yourself back under harm. We encourage you to maintain godly boundaries, to seek safe and wise counsel from a trusted pastor or biblical counselor and from mature believers, and to allow time for the Lord to restore you before considering any new courtship. When the Lord leads you toward a future relationship, we pray it will be a courtship with a fellow believer that is centered on Christ and moving toward holy marriage between a man and a woman as God designed, marked by kindness, respect, honesty and selfless love.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, as in Romans 10:9. It is through Him that we can bring every wound and burden directly to the throne of grace and find mercy and healing.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this dear one to You. We ask You to pour out Your healing upon every place that has been wounded by psychological abuse, every memory, every word that has caused harm, every fear and anxiety that lingers. Lord, bind up these wounds, quiet the lies of the enemy, and speak Your truth and love over this heart. Draw near as the One who is close to the brokenhearted, give comfort through Your Holy Spirit, grant restful sleep, peace of mind and renewed strength day by day. We ask You to surround this life with safe, godly community, with wise counsel and protection from further harm, and to give discernment for every decision and boundary. Help to forgive as You have forgiven, while walking in wisdom and not returning to what harms. Restore identity, joy and hope in Christ, and lead in Your perfect timing to wholeness and to relationships that honor You. We ask all of this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, our Savior, amen.

We're grateful you reached out, and we're so sorry for the pain your ex caused. Psychological abuse can be especially disorienting because there are no visible wounds, yet it slowly wears down confidence and sense of worth and can leave you second guessing yourself and what really happened. It makes sense that healing feels slow, even now that the relationship has ended.

We want you to know that what you experienced was not your fault, and needing time to recover does not mean you are weak or broken beyond repair. Many who have been through this find it helps to have one safe, steady person to talk with one on one, whether a trusted pastor or a licensed counselor, who can listen without pressure and help you sort through what you are carrying at your own pace. It can also help to give yourself clear boundaries around contact and space to grieve what was lost, without feeling you must hurry toward forgiveness or reconnect.

We are continuing to pray for you as you heal, and we encourage you to reach out for professional support alongside prayer if painful thoughts, anxiety or low mood persist.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for Your gentle healing, for wisdom, for safe community around them, and for daily reminders of their dignity and worth in You. Guide their next steps and bring rest to their heart. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we carry it with sorrow and tenderness before the throne of grace. To be wounded in the heart and mind by one who should have dealt gently is a deep affliction, and the pain of it lingers long after the wound was given. Yet there is hope, for it is written that He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds.

You ask for healing, and we would point you to Him who is Himself the Physician. As the leaves fall from the trees, so does sacred influence descend from our Lord Jesus in heaven down to the sons of men, and the very leaves of that tree are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. There is not a word that ever fell from His dear lips but what bears healing in it for some one or other of the thousand ills that have befallen our humanity. Even a broken text from His mouth is better than the best of others, and it is appointed for this very purpose, that you might be made whole.

The soldier who retires from the battlefield knows he shall find a hand to extricate the shot and ointments to heal his wounds. How much more shall the soul that comes to Christ find a balm for natural wounds, one who can give joy to the troubled countenance, take the furrow from the brow, wipe the tear from the eye, remove the agitation from the bosom and calm the heart now swelling with grief. A real saving work is the work of God and God alone, and He is able to breathe into your soul at this very moment a peace which passes all understanding.

We pray for you now, that the Lord in mercy would look upon you in your distress. May He who took our infirmities and bore our sorrows lay His healing hand upon you, lift you up as He lifted her who lay sick of a fever, and establish a sweet contact between your wounded spirit and Himself. May He preserve you from all evil and preserve your soul, keep you from the devices of the enemy, and answer your prayer, Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. May He cleanse the memory of cruelty, quiet fearful thoughts, restore soundness of mind, and fill the places once filled with turmoil with His own perfect peace. May you know that all your sins are forgiven through His atoning blood, and that being forgiven, healing will come from the pardoning hand.

Seek the Lord daily in His Word, for the healing power was present when Christ was teaching, and He has linked healing with teaching still. Draw near to a faithful fellowship where you may be heard, counseled and guarded with wisdom, and where you may learn again what it is to dwell in safety and uprightness. The Lord shall keep you, and that healing draught which He gives shall change even bitter lips into sweetness.

We commend you to Him who never fails the wounded, trusting that He who has begun a good work will perfect it until you are able to rise from this weakness and serve Him with a whole heart.
