Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the landlord (ex) on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life.

We join you in prayer and thank you for your heart for this man who is both your landlord and your former close relationship, and for standing on Luke 9:24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. We agree with you that Jesus reigns over all darkness and that His light indeed expels it, for we remember Colossians 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love and 1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.

We are encouraged that you have prayed in the name of Lord Jesus, for we know there is no other way to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me and Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be saved we must confess and believe as Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This is the very losing of our own life and will to gain Christ that Luke 9:24 speaks of, surrendering our self rule to follow Him, and we pray this man will come to that surrender.

We also want to lovingly address what you shared about this being your ex. If this former relationship involved romantic or sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must gently call it what Scripture calls it. God calls us to flee sexual immorality as 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and that courtship should be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. Sex before or outside marriage is fornication and does not honor God. If this has been part of your history together, we encourage repentance and walking in purity before the Lord, that both of you may be healed and made new, for 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. We pray for forgiveness and restoration for both of you in this area.

We now pray together in Jesus name for this landlord and for your rented apartment situation.

Father in heaven, we come before your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We ask for your mercy and grace as Hebrews 4:16 says Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. We lift up this landlord to you and ask that you draw him by your Holy Spirit to lose his life for Jesus sake that he may truly save it. Open his eyes to see his need for a Savior, soften his heart to repent and to confess Jesus as Lord and believe in his heart that you raised Him from the dead. Translate him out of darkness into the Kingdom of your Son.

Lord Jesus, we ask that you expel all darkness and every unclean influence from those affected and from this rented apartment. Let your light shine and let your peace rule there. We ask that you give this man ears to hear your voice, for you said in John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Cause him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life, for we know Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Guide him on his life's journey, heal what is broken, and lead him into your perfect will.

We declare victory in Jesus name not by our power but by yours, and we trust that you are working all things together for good for those who love you according to Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. We thank you for your love and faithfulness and we trust you to reveal your greatness and power in this situation. Help our dear one who prayed to continue to walk in holiness, to pray without ceasing, and to trust your leading regarding this housing situation and this relationship. Let your will be done.

We pray all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope. Amen.

We appreciate you bringing your landlord before the Lord with such care. Wanting him to know Jesus and to hear God's leading for his life is a loving burden to carry, and we are honored to join you in it.

We know it can feel discouraging when someone seems far from God or uninterested. What has helped us is remembering that coming to faith and learning to recognize God's voice is usually a process over time, more like training than a single moment. Small, faithful exposures to truth and kindness often soften a heart in ways we cannot see right away. Your steady prayers are part of that.

A gentle next step if it fits your situation is to keep praying for him by name at a regular time, and when you do have contact about the apartment, continue to be respectful and gracious. You do not need to force a conversation about faith, simply letting your words and actions reflect Christ can keep the door open for God to work.

Father, we lift this landlord to You. You know his life and his needs. Draw him to Jesus, open his heart to Your love, and help him hear Your voice and Your good plan for him. Give our friend peace as they entrust him to You and wisdom for each interaction. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

It is a right and weighty thing to bring the soul of another before the mercy seat, and you do well to plead the very words of our Lord, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. There is a solemn truth in this saying which every man must face, for we have all sinned and fallen, and apart from Christ we are lost.

Your prayer for this man, your landlord, that he may give his life to Christ and so save it, is according to the mind of God. The truth of God's salvation proves itself to be real because it deals with real things. If we have laid hold of it we believe in a real Fall, for we know ourselves to be truly sinners, and we believe in a real Atonement, for we see that Christ has truly borne our sin, and we receive a real pardon, so that we are really forgiven. No other salvation will serve his turn or yours, but that which is Divine from top to bottom, God's salvation from beginning to carrying on to the end. Wherever our eyes spiritually light upon the Christ of God, there we see God's salvation.

Scripture says, Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, and again, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. The way of salvation is to believe on Him, to trust in Him, to depend upon Him without fear as to present and eternal salvation. A look does not require a moment, yet it saves, for salvation is by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone. There is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

Remember also that the house in which we dwell has God for its Landlord, and we are only tenants. Your breath is in your nostrils, but He keeps it there, and you owe the continued possession of your existence every day to Him. There is a clause in the lease that the Landlord has at all times the right to enter and to call His tenant to account. The heart is never right till the whole man is in Christ, till by a living faith we have embraced Jesus as our full salvation. My prayer is that this man may offer the key of his house to the Great Landlord and acknowledge that he lives on sufferance as His tenant.

Let us pray together for him.

O Lord our God, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we plead Your promise. This man now holds his life in his own hands and would save it for himself, and so must lose it. Grant him grace to lose his life for Your sake, that he may save it. Show him his true state as a sinner before You, and reveal to him the real Atonement made by the blood of Jesus Christ Your dear Son which cleanses us from all sin. Grant him repentance and faith, that he may look unto Jesus and be saved, that he may believe on Him and not be ashamed, and receive a real pardon.

We ask that You would give him ears to hear Your voice. You have taught Your people from their youth and You still teach by Your Word which is preserved century after century. Cause him to hear You speaking in the Scriptures, not in uncertain imaginations, but in the plain Gospel, and draw him through the gate of salvation. Let him know that his life, his breath, his dwelling, are all held of You, the true Landlord, and bring him to yield himself wholly to Christ as his Saviour and Lord.

We ask this not to bless any way that is contrary to Your holy will, but that Your mercy and grace may lead him to life everlasting, to walk in Your ways and to know Your holy plan for him according to Your Word. Do this for Your great name's sake, that all may see Your greatness and power, for beside You there is none else.

We thank You for Your love and faithfulness, and we leave this soul in Your hands, trusting Your sovereign grace. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
