We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for protection against witchcraft and manipulation from ex-family members. The pain of severed relationships, especially within family, is deep, and the enemy seeks to exploit that pain through deception, fear, and spiritual attack. But we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed these powers and made a public spectacle of them through His victory on the cross.
First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare. The Bible is clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). Witchcraft, manipulation, and curses are real, but they are powerless against those who are in Christ. Jesus has given us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm us (Luke 10:19). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the mighty name of Jesus. Every curse, every spell, every word spoken in darkness—we break it now by the blood of Jesus and declare it null and void.
We also recognize that bitterness, unforgiveness, or unresolved hurt can create openings for the enemy to operate. Scripture warns us, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it" (Hebrews 12:15). If there is any unforgiveness in your heart toward these family members, we encourage you to release it to the Lord. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right, nor does it mean reconciliation is required. It means you are choosing to let go of the burden and trust God to be your defender and vindicator. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12), and He made it clear that our forgiveness is tied to our own freedom.
Now, we put on the full armor of God, as Ephesians 6:13-18 instructs us: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. We pray this over you now. Father, we ask You to clothe [this dear one] with Your armor. Let truth be their foundation, righteousness their protection, and peace their stance. May their faith be a shield that extinguishes every fiery dart of the enemy. Let salvation guard their mind, and may Your Word be the sword they wield with precision against every lie and scheme of the devil.
We also declare the power of the blood of Jesus over this situation. Revelation 12:11 tells us that believers overcome the accuser by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. We plead the blood of Jesus over [this dear one], their home, their mind, their family, and their future. No weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We cancel every assignment of witchcraft, divination, or manipulation sent their way. In the name of Jesus, we break every generational curse, every ungodly soul tie, and every word spoken in darkness. We declare that no evil plan will succeed, and no scheme of the enemy will stand.
We pray for a hedge of protection around [this dear one], their loved ones, and their dwelling place. Psalm 91:1-2 says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" Lord, let this be their reality. Surround them with Your angels, as You promise in Psalm 91:11-12, to guard them in all their ways and to lift them up so they will not strike their foot against a stone. Let no evil come near their dwelling, and let Your presence be their peace.
We also encourage you to walk in wisdom and discernment. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life." Be mindful of what you allow into your heart and mind—whether through media, conversations, or even your own thoughts. The enemy seeks to plant seeds of fear, doubt, and division. Resist him by standing firm in your faith (1 Peter 5:9). Fill your mind with the truth of God’s Word, and let it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).
If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ, if you haven’t done so. There is power in the name of Jesus, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not confessed Jesus as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9), we invite you to do so now. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is only through Him that we find true protection, peace, and victory over the powers of darkness.
Finally, we pray for restoration where it is God’s will and for His justice to prevail. Romans 12:19 reminds us, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" Trust that God sees all and will bring justice in His perfect timing. Until then, walk in the freedom Christ has given you, knowing that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with boldness, standing on the authority of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up [this dear one] to You, asking for Your divine protection and deliverance from every scheme of the enemy. We break every curse, every spell, and every word spoken in darkness against them. We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their home, and their future. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let Your presence be their peace. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in wisdom, discernment, and victory. Heal their heart from any unforgiveness or bitterness, and let Your love be their strength. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned. You are their refuge, their fortress, and their deliverer. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
