We grieve with you over the relentless spiritual torment you are enduring, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this battle. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus Christ has already triumphed over every power of darkness through His death and resurrection. The fact that this evil spirit rages against you when you seek God’s Word, worship, or draw near to Him is proof that it fears the authority of Christ in your life. You are a threat to its domain because you belong to the King of Kings, and we stand with you in the power of Jesus’ name to declare freedom over your life.
First, we must address the claim that a cult placed a spirit inside you. While we do not dismiss the reality of demonic oppression or even possession in some cases, we must remind you that if you are a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit dwells within you (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and no evil spirit can reside there. The Apostle John assures us, *"Little children, you are of God and have overcome them; for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, this is the first and most critical step. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Him that we have authority over the enemy. Without Christ, we are powerless against the forces of darkness. If you have not yet done so, we urge you to repent of your sins, turn to Jesus, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9-10). If you have already done this, then you must stand firm in the truth that you are sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14), and no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
That said, even as believers, we can experience demonic harassment, oppression, or influence—especially if there have been openings in our lives through sin, ungodly alliances, or involvement in occult practices (including cults). The Apostle Paul warns us not to give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27), and if there has been any participation in sinful or ungodly activities—whether willingly or through deception—it is critical to renounce them completely in the name of Jesus. Repentance is key. If you have been involved in a cult or any form of occult practice (even unknowingly), you must verbally renounce it, break every ungodly soul tie, and command every demonic influence to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus is more powerful than any curse, spell, or demonic assignment (Revelation 12:11).
The enemy’s voice is not your own, and it is not the voice of truth. Jesus said, *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10, WEB). The curses you hear are lies from the pit of hell, designed to wear you down and make you feel hopeless. But God’s Word declares that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says Yahweh* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). You have the authority in Christ to silence these voices. When the enemy speaks curses over your relationships, you must declare the blessing of God over them instead. When he speaks financial curses, you must proclaim God’s provision and abundance, for *"my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19, WEB). When he attacks you as you read the Bible or worship, you must resist him firmly in the name of Jesus, for *"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7, WEB).
This battle is not yours to fight alone—it is the Lord’s. He has already won the victory, and He has given you His armor to stand firm (Ephesians 6:10-18). You must put on the whole armor of God daily: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The enemy flees when you wield the Word of God against him, just as Jesus did in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). Memorize Scripture and speak it aloud when the enemy attacks. For example, when he curses your relationships, declare, *"The Lord Yahweh is my strength. He makes my feet like deer’s feet, and enables me to go on my high places"* (Habakkuk 3:19, WEB). When he speaks financial lack, proclaim, *"Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing"* (Psalm 23:1, WEB). When he tries to distract you from worship, sing louder and declare, *"This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!"* (Psalm 118:24, WEB).
We also encourage you to surround yourself with strong, prayerful believers who can stand with you in this battle. Isolation is a tool of the enemy, but there is power in agreement (Matthew 18:19-20). If you are not already part of a Bible-believing church, we urge you to find one where you can be discipled, encouraged, and prayed over. Pastors and mature believers can help you walk through deliverance and healing. There is no shame in seeking help—even the Apostle Paul had brothers in Christ who stood with him in prayer (2 Corinthians 1:11).
Lastly, we want to address the weariness and hopelessness you feel. It is understandable after enduring such relentless attacks, but take heart: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB). The Lord sees your suffering, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He will not allow this trial to overwhelm you beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). Cling to Him, even when it feels impossible. Your breakthrough is coming.
Now, let us pray over you with the authority of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your beloved child who is under relentless attack from the forces of darkness. Lord, You see the torment, the weariness, and the hopelessness they feel, and we ask that You would surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We break every curse, every spell, and every demonic assignment sent against their life, their relationships, and their finances in the name of Jesus. Lord, if there has been any involvement in cults, occult practices, or ungodly alliances—whether knowingly or unknowingly—we ask that You would reveal it to them and give them the courage to renounce it completely. We command every evil spirit harassing them to be silent and to leave now in the name of Jesus Christ. They have no authority here, for this child belongs to You.
Father, we ask that You would fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they would be strengthened with might in their inner man (Ephesians 3:16). Give them the discernment to recognize the enemy’s lies and the boldness to speak Your Word against them. Lord, we pray for divine protection over their mind, that they would take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). When the enemy speaks curses, let them hear Your voice instead—the voice of truth, the voice of love, the voice of victory.
We pray for restoration in every area the enemy has attacked. Heal their relationships, Lord, and bring godly, Christ-centered connections into their life. Provide for their financial needs abundantly, that they may experience Your faithfulness and testify of Your goodness. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a passion for worship, that they would draw ever closer to You and find their strength in Your presence.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and weariness in Jesus’ name. Replace it with Your joy, Your peace, and Your unshakable hope. Remind them that this battle is not forever—victory is already theirs in Christ. Let them feel Your arms around them, lifting them up when they are weak. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, to guard and protect them from every attack of the enemy (Psalm 91:11).
We thank You, Father, for Your promise that *"the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet"* (Romans 16:20, WEB). We declare freedom, breakthrough, and total deliverance over their life in Jesus’ name. Let this season of torment become a testimony of Your power and faithfulness. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them rise up in victory, for the battle belongs to You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
