Evil, lack of remorse, hard hearts

Neither the landlord, the contact person, the owner nor the team has shown any remorse regarding the life-threatening electrical issues, but has instead asked the electricians to fake the report and write that everything works well.

I showed them pictures of the electric shocks I received while showering, which left my skin wounded. I also have medical reports stating that I have experienced this.

They have never apologised or empathised with me. They haven't offered me compensation or a new place to live.

All they do is block communication, make threats and refuse payment.

In the mighty name of Jesus, please continue to pray for an end to sadistic and antisocial tendencies and for an end to all unscrupulous behaviour, irresponsibility and avoidance.

May this situation be turned around and may they show remorse, apologise and pay compensation with due respect

Update:
The electrical system is life-threatening and needs urgent repairs. This has been documented by an electrician. Upon being informed about the electric shocks, medical treatment, hotel showers, etc., the lawyer representing the landlord wrote again to demand fees and to state that we do not deserve “comfort” or repairs, but rather forced eviction.
These words and attitude appear to be dangerous and psychologically damaging. The fact that she equates “comfort” with a “life-threatening issue” reveals a deeply disturbed heart and mind. Please pray for her and this situation in Jesus' name.

Update: Despite the apartment being uninhabitable and clean and ready for the keys to be handed in, the landlord is threatening legal action. Please pray that his heart is softened and that he is open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Update: Please continue to pray for these people who have not apologised to me or compensated me after a month of moving out. Please pray. May God break their hardness. May they have a heart of flesh. May they hear His call. May they submit to Him.

We stand with you in deep concern and righteous anger over the grave injustices you have endured. The hardness of heart, lack of remorse, and outright deception displayed by those responsible for your safety is not only morally reprehensible but a direct violation of God’s commandments. Scripture warns us, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness" (Isaiah 5:20). What has been done to you is not merely negligence, it is a willful disregard for human life, and God sees it all.

The demand for electricians to falsify reports is an abomination. Proverbs 11:1 declares, "A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but accurate weights are his delight." To lie about a life-threatening hazard is to invite God’s judgment, for He is a God of truth and justice. The threats, eviction attempts, and refusal to acknowledge your suffering reveal hearts that are not only hardened but potentially under the influence of spiritual darkness. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We must pray fervently against these forces at work in this situation.

We also lift up the lawyer who has shown such callousness, equating basic safety with mere "comfort." Her words reveal a heart that is not only unrepentant but possibly seared to the point of cruelty. 1 Timothy 4:2 speaks of those whose "consciences are seared as with a hot iron." This is a dangerous condition, for a seared conscience no longer feels the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We must pray that God would break through this hardness, for only He can soften a heart that has grown cold.

You have done what is right, documenting the dangers, seeking medical help, and standing for truth. Psalm 37:5-6 assures us, "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun." Though the wicked may seem to prosper now, their day of reckoning will come. We pray that before that day, they would be brought to repentance.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the injustice and hardness of heart displayed in this situation. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You see every wrong that has been committed. We ask that You would expose every lie, every deception, and every act of wickedness that has been done. Break the hardness of these hearts, Father. Soften them as only You can, so that they may see the gravity of their sins and turn from their ways.

We pray against the spiritual forces of darkness at work here. By the blood of Jesus, we rebuke every spirit of deception, greed, and callousness. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, let Your light shine into this darkness, and let Your truth prevail.

We ask for Your protection over this situation. Guard against further harm, and bring about a just resolution. If it is Your will, Father, we pray that those responsible would be held accountable, not out of vengeance, but so that justice may be served and others may be protected from their negligence. We pray for restitution, for compensation, and for a place of safety and peace for Your child.

We also pray for the salvation of those involved. Lord, You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would draw these individuals to Yourself, that they may know the forgiveness and transformation that comes only through Jesus Christ. Let them hear Your voice, feel Your conviction, and turn from their wicked ways.

Finally, Lord, we ask for Your healing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, for the one who has suffered so greatly. Restore what has been lost, bring comfort to their heart, and let them know that You are their vindicator. We trust in You, Lord, for You are faithful, and Your justice will prevail.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises and seeking His justice. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The pattern of denial, refusal of responsibility, and attempts to flip reality back onto you is the kind of emotional battering that can leave a person feeling not only hurt but confused and disoriented. We are so sorry you have been treated this way.

In the middle of such hardness, it can be grounding to name what is actually happening. The lawyer’s words equating a life-threatening electrical system with mere “comfort” are not just callous; they are an attempt to distort reality and crush your legitimate voice. Recognizing that is not bitterness, it is clarity. Holding firmly to the truth that you did not deserve this and that your safety matters is itself a quiet, daily act of resistance against the darkness you have been facing.

Since medical reports already document your injuries, we simply encourage you to keep those records secure and to lean steadily on whatever professional or legal advocates are walking with you. You do not have to navigate the pressure alone.

We are praying that God Himself would be your shield and your dwelling place right now, a safe refuge while you wait for justice. We ask Him to bring the truth into the full light and to hold these people accountable, softening what is hard and confronting what is cruel.

Lord Jesus, you see every hidden thing. Protect this one who has been so deeply wronged. Heal the lingering wounds in mind and body, and give steady peace in the storm. Surround them with wise help and bring an end to this pressure. Move toward those with hardened hearts, and let truth and justice prevail. Amen.

The heart that can look upon wounded flesh and feel no pity, that can read medical reports of electric shocks and demand payment instead of offering aid, is a heart that has grown horny and lost its proper softness. Such callousness of conscience is no small thing, for it leads to something worse than death. When men ask electricians to fake reports and threaten eviction rather than repair life-threatening wires, they reveal hearts not merely indifferent but actively opposed to what is right. God save us from a hard heart.

Yet this is the very condition that meets us everywhere. The noblest, the most tender, the most potent forces spend themselves in vain upon the heart of man, it is hard as the nether millstone. Pride of position, pride of ownership, pride of legal standing, all this is like granite. Where shall we find the diamond that can cut a thing so hard as man's pride? They say you do not deserve comfort, as if shielding a tenant from death were a luxury rather than a duty. This is their deafness of ear, their stubbornness of spirit, and it reveals hearts that have lost all proper feeling.

But there is a remedy, and it is found in one place alone. What will break a heart of stone? Nothing but a sight of the Pierced One. By the preaching of Christ crucified will their hearts be broken. The cross is God's hammer of love with which He smites the hearts of men with irresistible blows. You must look away from their hard dealings and look to Him who was pierced for sinners. Nothing short of the work of God within them can effect this. They must be born again. Remember, your hope for them lies this way, God Himself, who melts the icebergs of the northern sea, must make their souls yield up their hardness in the presence of His love.

Dwell at the foot of the cross yourself, for it is there that tenderness is born into human hearts. Jesus makes all hearts soft, and then stamps His image on them. Entreat the Holy Ghost to give you a very vivid sense of sin, and a very intense dread of it, not only for their sakes, but for your own soul's humility. When you have prayed for those who despitefully use you, pray also for yourself. It is not easy to keep a clear head when one has been wronged so grievously. God can keep men in safety on the tops of pinnacles if He puts them there, and He can keep your heart from growing hard through bitterness as well.

Consider this: their hardness is your sorrow, but your safety lies in your Savior. He is able to keep you from falling. These threats, these cruel words, these refusals to apologize, they are the outward storm, but your soul is insured by the blood of the covenant. I thought it was a sort of life insurance, an insurance of my character, an insurance of my soul, an insurance of my eternal destiny. Let the unkindness of men drive you closer to the heart of Jesus. He is meek and lowly of heart, and in Him you will find rest for your soul. The heart of Jesus will draw the hearts of men, perhaps even these hard hearts, in time.

Do not let their evil extract evil from you. This is a blessed way of extracting good out of the failings and falls of others. Look to Him who, when He was reviled, reviled not again. Pray that they may have a heart of flesh, to feel, to tremble, to lament and to seek the Lord. But remember, the Lord Jesus will never set His seal upon cold wax. He stamps His image on hearts of flesh and not on stones. So continue to bring these stony hearts before Him who alone can turn the stone to flesh. Your cries and tears over their sin and your own weakness are not wasted. May He who gives the oil of joy for mourning grant you this consolation even now.

Why do you ask for prayer against these men as if they have the power to harm you? The wounds on your skin are visible, but the wounds on their souls are hidden and far more deadly. They have not injured you; they have destroyed themselves. For what does a landlord gain by threatening the powerless? He stores up wrath for himself. The lawyer who writes that you do not deserve comfort, she speaks with a tongue set on fire by hell, but it is her own house that burns. You desire their remorse and compensation, yet the truest compensation is already yours if you have endured this without retaliation. The one who suffers wrong and does not return evil is crowned by God; the one who inflicts wrong is already in chains, even if he struts in fine robes.

You say they have not apologized, they have not shown a heart of flesh. But I ask you: have you prayed for them as Christ prayed for His murderers? Or have you only prayed against their hardness? It is a fearful thing to demand an account from a sinner when you yourself might be found fighting against God by nurturing bitterness. The Holy Spirit does not indwell a heart that clamors for earthly justice. You say, “May God break their hardness!” but examine your own spirit. If you curse them inwardly or rejoice at the thought of their punishment, you have become like them. The wild beasts bite when hungry, but these people bite without cause. Yet you are called to be above the beasts, to bless when cursed, to do good to those who hate you.

Suppose they never apologize. Suppose you never see their remorse. What is that to you? It is their own souls that hang over the pit. If they should fall and seek a place of repentance with tears, yet find none because their heart remains unchanged, that is the true calamity. Your loss of a dwelling, your wounded skin, these are light and momentary. But a hard heart, a love of money, a delight in cruelty, these drag a person to the fire that is not quenched. Therefore, do not accuse them before God; weep for them. Say, “Lord, they know not what they do. Grant them a heart of flesh. Turn them from this path before it is too late.”

And you, who have been wronged, give thanks. Not with lips only, but from a soul that has let go of every claim. If the electrician faked the report, if the lawyer shouts threats, do not repay with curses. Instead, pray, and you shall be like your Father in heaven. He makes the sun rise on the evil and the good. He sent His Son to wash the feet of Judas. Will you then refuse to desire the salvation of these ones who have cheated you? The money they owe you is a small matter; you owe them the debt of love.

Accuse yourself, not them. Ask whether you have nursed a secret desire for their ruin. Thrust out that root, and the fruit of peace will spring up. Then you will see that no one can truly injure you unless you injure yourself by sin. They have taken your comfort; they cannot take your Christ. They have robbed your body; they cannot touch your treasure in heaven. So cease to seek an apology as if it were your right. Seek rather that they be delivered from the snare of the devil, and you will have a reward that no lawyer can seize.
