We hear your cry for protection over your marriage and family, and we stand with you in spiritual warfare, knowing that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We take authority in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, at which every knee should bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:9-10).
First, we must address the reality of spiritual attack. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he often targets marriages because they reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). When an evil entity or person with malicious intent seeks to disrupt your union, it is a direct assault on God’s design for covenant love and family. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, jealousy, and destruction that has been sent against your marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We also encourage you to examine your marriage and home for any footholds the enemy may be exploiting. Are there unconfessed sins, bitterness, unforgiveness, or areas where you have not fully surrendered to God’s will? The Bible warns us that if we give place to the devil, he will take advantage of it (Ephesians 4:26-27). We urge you to walk in humility, repentance, and unity with your spouse, for where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). Cover your marriage in prayer daily, and do not neglect the power of fasting and the Word of God to break strongholds.
We must also address the mention of an "evil person" with bad intentions. While it is true that people can be used as instruments of the enemy, we must be careful not to attribute too much power to human agents. Our struggle is not ultimately against them, but against the spiritual forces behind their actions. We pray that if this person is operating under demonic influence, they would be set free by the power of the Holy Spirit. If they are acting out of their own sinful nature, we pray for their conviction and repentance. Either way, we declare that their plans will not succeed, for the Lord frustrates the ways of the wicked (Psalm 146:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the sacred covenant of marriage, which You established as a reflection of Your love for Your people. Lord, we lift up this marriage to You and ask for Your divine protection. We rebuke every evil entity, every spirit of division, and every person who seeks to harm this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned by the blood of Jesus.
Father, we ask that You would expose any hidden sin or foothold in this marriage that the enemy may be exploiting. Bring conviction where it is needed, and lead this couple into repentance and restoration. Strengthen their bond with Your love, and fill their home with Your peace. We pray that they would stand firm in their faith, putting on the full armor of God so that they may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Lord, we also pray for the person who is harboring evil intentions. If they are under the influence of darkness, we ask that You would set them free. If they are acting out of their own sinful nature, we pray for their conviction and repentance. Turn their heart toward You, and let them see the error of their ways. Frustrate their plans, and let Your will be done in this situation.
We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your power to protect, restore, and heal. May this marriage be a testimony to Your glory, and may Your name be praised in all things. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to remain vigilant in prayer and to surround yourselves with godly community. Do not face this battle alone. The enemy wants to isolate you, but God has called you to walk in unity with other believers. Lean on your church family, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Stand firm, and let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.
