Thank you for sharing this honest request and for inviting prayer. It is a real and uncomfortable burden to carry, and God cares about what you are going through in your body as well as in your soul.
Scripture shows that Jesus has power over sickness. When He healed the leper, the servant of the centurion, the mother of Peter, and many others who were brought to Him in the evening, Matthew saw in it the fulfillment of what Isaiah had said, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. That tells us that physical healing is part of what Christ came to bring, and we can come to Him with confidence that He is able to heal.
At the same time the Bible keeps a healthy balance. There is a well known greeting in the letter of John to Gaius where he expresses his wish that Gaius would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That is a beautiful and loving wish, not a blanket guarantee that every believer will always be perfectly well. It does show us something true, that there is a real connection between the health of our inner life and the health of our body. Attitudes, peace, worry and joy can even affect our body chemistry, and God is interested in the whole person.
The Gospels also show that healing does not always look the same. Sometimes Jesus healed with a word, sometimes with a touch, and in one case a blind man was healed gradually, seeing a little at first and then clearly after Jesus touched him again. Any true healing is from God, whether it comes in an instant or through a gradual process. The natural processes of recovery that God has built into our bodies are divine too, because He created nature and its laws. Doctors and care givers work with those processes that He established.
We also do not fully understand why some are healed immediately and others are not. The apostle Paul prayed three times about his own thorn in the flesh and the Lord did not remove it as Paul asked. That helps us see that we should never say that ongoing sickness means there is sin in your life or that you lack faith. Some of the most faithful and godly people live with ongoing health struggles, and spirituality cannot be measured by physical health.
We will pray for you now, asking for exactly what you have asked, for immediate and lasting relief from this diarrhea, and for strength and comfort while you wait on the Lord. We also encourage you to take practical care of your body as part of seeking health. God cares about what we eat and drink, about cleanliness which helps prevent the spread of disease, and about getting wise medical help when needed. If this has continued, please seek care from a doctor, stay hydrated, and pay attention to diet and rest. These ordinary means are not separate from prayer, they are often the way God brings healing.
And as God works, remember to give thanks. One of the ten men healed of leprosy returned to thank Jesus, and Jesus said he was made whole. Gratitude keeps our hearts close to the Lord whether healing comes quickly or over time.
Let us pray. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this need before You. You see this discomfort and distress. You know how tiring and discouraging it is. We ask for Your healing touch, that this diarrhea would stop now and not return, and that the body would be restored to normal, healthy function. Give peace, strength, and rest. Guide to any practical help or treatment that is needed, and let Your will be done with compassion and power. We thank You that You hear us, that You love us, and that You are able. Help us to trust You and to give thanks in all things. Amen.
