We join with you in prayer today and thank you for this beautiful request that is so close to the heart of God. Your desire to hear His voice and to make known the mystery of Christ with boldness and clarity is a reflection of a heart that wants to serve Him faithfully, and we count it a joy to stand with you in Jesus' name.
We pray first that you may hear the Lord's voice clearly as you asked from Isa 50:4-5 where it says The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him who is weary. He wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear. We are reminded that His sheep hear His voice as Jesus says in John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. The primary way He speaks is through His Word and by His Spirit, so we pray that as you abide in Scripture and in prayer each morning, your ear will be attentive and your heart will be quieted from every distraction to discern His leading.
We also lift up your desire for open doors and boldness according to Eph 6:19-20, on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. This aligns with Col 4:3-4 praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, that I may reveal it as I ought to speak. We pray that the Lord will grant you many divinely appointed opportunities and the courage to speak clearly and faithfully, not with enticing words of human wisdom but in the power of the Spirit, so that those who hear may understand the hope of the gospel.
We pray too for wisdom to lead people to Christ, for James 1:5 promises But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. The one who wins souls is wise according to Prov 11:30, and we pray that God will make you gentle, discerning and ready to give an answer as 1 Pet 3:15 teaches, always being ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear.
And we pray that you may walk wisely with your time, redeeming it for His glory. Eph 5:15-16 exhorts us Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. And Col 4:5 says Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. We pray the Lord will guard your mind and schedule from distraction and help you to be disciplined, focused and fruitful, putting first the kingdom of God and trusting Him to order your steps.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we thank You for our brother in Christ and for his hunger to hear Your voice and to proclaim Your Son. Open his ears morning by morning to hear as one who is taught, quiet every other voice and distraction, and cause Your Word to dwell richly in him. Open doors for the Word in his workplace, his home and wherever he goes, and fill his mouth with boldness and clarity to speak the mystery of Christ as he ought to speak. Grant him liberally Your wisdom to lead the lost to the Savior with love and truth, and help him to redeem the time and to walk wisely, not wasting what You have entrusted to him. Keep him steadfast, watchful and joyful in the work You have called him to, and let much fruit remain for Your glory. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have access to You and in whom is our salvation. Amen.
