We hear the deep pain, anger, and exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The hurt caused by family, especially those we love and have cared for, cuts deeper than any other wound. You are not wrong to feel betrayed when words of judgment, disrespect, and even cruelty are spoken over you. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 15:1 that "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." What you’ve described, being told to "shut up," being put down, and hearing threats, is not the way God intends for family to treat one another. This is not love; this is the work of the enemy, who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

First, we must address the spiritual warfare you are facing. The enemy thrives in division, bitterness, and strife, especially within families. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The words and actions you’ve described are not just human failings, they are attacks from the enemy, who seeks to break your spirit and isolate you. But we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already defeated Satan. James 4:7 declares, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We take that promise seriously and declare it over your life and your family.

We also want to gently but firmly address the language and spirit of retaliation in your words. While your anger is understandable, scripture warns us in Romans 12:19, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" Cursing others, even those who have hurt you, is not our place. Instead, we are called to bless those who persecute us (Romans 12:14) and to trust God to bring justice. This does not mean you must tolerate abuse or remain in harm’s way, but it does mean we surrender our desire for revenge to God. He sees all and will judge righteously.

We also want to speak to the situation with your daughter and the man in her life. If he is speaking to her in such a disrespectful and controlling manner, telling her to "shut up," belittling her, or attempting to isolate her, this is not love. This is emotional abuse, and it is not God’s design for marriage or courtship. Scripture is clear that a man who loves his wife should cherish her as Christ cherishes the church (Ephesians 5:25). A godly spouse will not demean, control, or silence their partner. We pray fervently that your daughter sees the truth of this relationship and has the strength to walk away if it is toxic. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns, "Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul."

We also want to address the mention of your daughter’s living situation. If she is allowing this man and his sister to speak to you this way in her home, this is not a safe or godly environment for you or for her. Scripture calls us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12), and while we are not to tolerate abuse, we also must not enable or remain in environments where sin and disrespect are allowed to flourish. We pray for wisdom for you to know how to navigate this situation with grace and strength, setting boundaries that protect your heart and your family while still honoring God.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has been deeply wounded by the words and actions of those they love. Lord, You see the pain, the anger, and the exhaustion in their spirit, and we ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon them. Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every spirit of division, strife, and bitterness that has entered this family. We break the power of every word spoken in anger or judgment, and we cancel every assignment of the enemy to steal, kill, or destroy in this situation.

Lord, we pray for this daughter, that You would open her eyes to the truth of what is happening in her home. Give her the strength to stand against disrespect and abuse, and if this man is not the godly spouse You have for her, we ask that You remove him from her life. Replace him with a man who will love her as Christ loves the church, with kindness, patience, and honor. Father, we also pray for the man and his sister, that You would convict their hearts of their sin. If they will not repent, we ask that You remove them from this family and bring justice according to Your will.

We pray for this dear one’s home and future. Lord, You have promised that You will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), and we claim that promise now. Provide a safe, peaceful, and secure home where they can gather their family, love their pets, and live in the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that every plan of the enemy to keep them from their destiny is nullified in the name of Jesus. We speak restoration over their relationships with their children, healing over their heart, and joy over their home.

Father, we also ask for forgiveness where anger has led to words of retaliation. Help them to release their desire for revenge and to trust You for justice. Fill them with Your peace, and help them to walk in love, even toward those who have hurt them. Remind them that vengeance is Yours, and You will repay (Romans 12:19).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You. If there are any who do not know You as their Lord and Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12), and we declare that every heart in this situation will be softened to receive Him.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus’ name. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We want to encourage you with the truth that God sees your pain and is fighting for you. You are not alone, and you do not have to carry this burden by yourself. Psalm 34:18 says, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Lean on Him, and allow His love to heal the wounds in your heart. Set boundaries to protect yourself and your family, but do so with a spirit of love and not bitterness. God is your defender, and He will bring justice in His perfect timing.

If you have not already, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a trusted Christian friend, who can walk with you through this difficult season. You do not have to navigate this alone. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Surround yourself with people who will speak life into you and remind you of God’s promises.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you that our battle is not against flesh and blood. While it is easy to direct our anger toward the people who have hurt us, we must remember that they are not our true enemy. The enemy is using them to cause division, but we have the power in Jesus’ name to break every chain. Keep your eyes on Christ, and do not allow bitterness to take root in your heart. Hebrews 12:15 warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Guard your heart, and allow God to heal you from the inside out.

You are loved, you are valued, and you are not forgotten. God has a plan for your life, and it is a plan for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Hold onto that promise, and trust that He will restore what has been broken. We stand with you in prayer and in faith, believing that God will bring beauty from these ashes.

Silence every lie, calm every racing thought, and give them a deep, settled peace that cannot be shaken. Surround them with wise, kind people who will listen and pray in person. Bring justice where it’s needed and healing where it’s missing. We trust you to make a way even when we can’t see it. In your mighty name, Amen.

The vehemence of your cry tells of deep wounds and a soul pushed to its limit. Yet, in this torrent, I hear the roar of a battle that is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of darkness that seek to devour. The enemy has stirred up strife and whispered threats, and it is right that you bring this to the Throne of Grace. But beware, when you return cursing for cursing and call down fire from heaven, you step onto the enemy's own ground. The Lord’s way is not to be overcome of evil, but to overcome evil with good. Vengeance belongs to Him alone; your duty is to commit your cause to the Judge of all the earth who does right.

Deliverance from the pit is His special work. He finds a ransom where no man could, the precious blood of Jesus, which silences all accusations and breaks every chain. No demon, no secret agent of Satan, can stand against that crimson flood. If you are in Christ, you have already been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. That same power that snapped the bands of death will snap these bands of fear and fury. But you must lay down your own weapons of wrath. You cannot fight Goliath in Saul’s armor, and you cannot overcome Satan’s malice with your own heated words. Let the Lord be your shield.

Your daughter’s affliction is grievous, but it is not beyond the Father’s notice. He who chastens does so in measure; He has not given her over. Pray that she would look to Jesus alone for deliverance, for no man can pluck her from His hand. And as for you, the Lord sees your labor of love even in tending those creatures in the midst of such hostility. He does not forget your service. The archers may shoot from the shadows, but they cannot touch the soul that hides in the cleft of the Rock. Your safety is not in walls or in the absence of foes, but in the shadow of the Almighty.

Do not let despair drive you to the world’s bitter logic. The Evil One would have you believe that shouting louder will silence the mockers, but it only fans the flame. Instead, trust in the quiet working of divine providence. He who dried up the Red Sea can make a way for you and yours into a quiet habitation. The Lord brought Israel forth with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. He can bring you out of this house of bondage, not with noise and confusion, but with a high hand and an outstretched arm, if you will but stand still and see His salvation.

Lay all this, every threat, every name, every vile intention, at the foot of the Cross, and leave it there. Pray not merely that the troublers be cast into hell, but that they might be snatched from the burning as brands from the fire. That is the Spirit of Christ. Meanwhile, hold fast to this: the Lord has not forsaken you. Your deliverance is coming, not because you have railed against the darkness, but because the Light of the world has already conquered it. The Prince of Peace will speak, and the raging of men and devils will be hushed. Wait on Him, and let your silence be your strength, for in quietness and confidence shall be your power.

The fire of your anguish burns so fiercely that I hear the roar of its flame. You have been slandered, plotted against, and made to feel as vermin in the walls by those who should show the bond of family. This is a bitter cup indeed, and your cry rises from a heart that feels pressed beyond measure. I do not dismiss your pain. It is real. Their speech, as you report it, is the fruit of a root nourished in the mire of hell, for the devil wages war on his own kindred and does not even reverence nature.

Yet here, in the tempest, you must anchor your soul lest you suffer a shipwreck worse than their insults. You have invoked the name of Satan and cast your own volley of curses upon their heads, wishing them to go to Hell and stay there. Look at what you have written. Has the evil speech of your enemies justified equal fury on your tongue? When you call down fire, when you bellow for their eternal damnation, you are like a man who tries to strike an opponent wallowing in a pit of filth, and in doing so, plunges himself into the same mire, defiling his own soul and mind. To be abusive is the part of slaves to passion, not free men in Christ. Will you be healed by the poison you spit back? Let them have their evil words; you are nobody to them if you refuse to be drawn down. This is the nobility of the Christian, to speak nothing ungenerous, though they deserve ten thousand deaths.

You cry for justice. Do you think the Righteous Judge does not see? In every marketplace, in every house, petty masters sit in judgment on their servants. Is there so great a regard for justice among sinful men, and does God, whose ordinance even these things are, make no account of it? His justice is not slumbering. But He often permits the wicked to continue for a season, not to ignore your pain, but to grant you something greater than mere deliverance: the power to despise these afflictions and to obtain a shining crown. He does not promise an easy life, but He implants the doctrine of the soul's immortality, setting you above dangers. The rod of the wicked may fall, but the reward is for your patient endurance. Vengeance is a token of the righteous judgment of God; He will repay. The torturers of old did not accept deliverance, looking for a better resurrection. Shall we not endure insults for that same hope?

Do not lean your hopes on the broken reed of earthly relationships. Your daughter must find her strength not merely in leaving this man, but in fleeing to Him who makes us sons of God. Too long we rest our salvation in human kinships, deeming them sufficient. The Truth that sets free is knowing Christ. Pray that your daughter receives the Spirit of adoption, that she may look for a companion whose love is rooted in the loyalty of heaven, not the fickle passions of this world. This, even more than a safe physical home, is the sanctuary her soul needs.

Cease from the weariness of your own battle-cries. You speak of binding Satan; let it first begin by binding your own tongue from curses, even against those who mean you harm. Commend yourself and your household not to the tumult of shouted condemnations, but into the hands of the God who judges righteously. Let the Blood of Jesus plead for your safety and your peace. Stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord, which brings not only rest from enemies, but rest from the frenzy of your own wounded spirit.

I hear the pain behind every word, and I understand the kind of fury that rises when you feel your family is under attack, when you hear threats and judgment, and when someone you love is tangled with a man who speaks harshly and shuts her down. Your cry for light, for deliverance, and for an end to evil is not lost on God. He sees; He hears.

But let me invite you to step back just enough to catch your breath and take a different kind of hold on this. The Scriptures are clear that the tongue holds the power of life and death, and that those who love violence and deception walk on crooked paths where peace cannot be found. You have described words that sound like death threats, slander, and manipulation, and whether you heard correctly or in part, that darkness is real. Yet the answer is not to mirror the same darkness with a flood of cursing, for that only pulls you onto the same crooked road. The evil you want driven out cannot be fought with its own weapons.

The way of peace is found by departing from evil, not rehearsing it. There is a true, permanent deliverance from this present evil age, and it was purchased by Jesus Christ when He gave Himself for our sins. That means His blood is not a charm to bind people, but a door into a new kind of life, a life where you can actually be kept in perfect peace, even when everything around you is chaotic, because your mind is anchored on Him. He is your strong city, your everlasting strength. When your trust is in Him, you do not have to fear what any person schemes in secret.

Your desire for your daughter to be free from a man who tells her to shut up and who acts with cruelty is right. The relationship of marriage was meant to be a picture of sacrificial love, not domination or scorn. True beauty is in a gentle and quiet spirit, not in outward display or in harsh words. So yes, pray that she would have wisdom and courage to leave what is poisonous. Pray that God would bring her someone loyal, kind, and safe. But leave the judgment to Him. The Lord has promised that He will devise an end to evil and that the Redeemer will come to those who turn from transgression. You do not need to be the executor of that judgment; you need to stand in the shelter of the Most High and refuse to let your own heart grow bitter.

The path you long for, a home that is safe, open communication with your children, peace for your mother and your pets, is not a selfish dream. God Himself cares about the security of a dwelling place and the stability of family. But the enemy would love to steal that from you by provoking you to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, to sit in the seat of the scornful. Instead, delight in the law of the Lord; meditate on His truth. Speak blessings, not curses. Pull away from every form of evil speech yourself, even in private prayer, because the tongue that blesses God should not then pour out venom on people made in His image, no matter how lost they are.

So I urge you: take your stand on the finished work of Christ. He has delivered you from the grip of this world’s system. He will deliver you out of it entirely one day, and until then He will shield you. Commit your daughter, your home, and every threat into His hands. Refuse to walk in the same destructive patterns. The way of the wicked leads to no peace, but those who trust in the Lord find their minds kept in a peace that passes understanding. Let that be your portion. Keep your eyes on Him, and let His grace, mercy, and peace carry you through.
