Beloved of All
After a 7 month battle with an oxy addiction, I started treatment with Suboxone and Subutex and have been successful and now prepared for the detox. If you have never experienced the withdrawals of opiate addiction, you have no idea the unbearable pain this sends throughout your entire body. Last week, I gave my first attempt cold turkey, and made it to day 3 and was left in agonizing pain, that I had to dose my Subutex. Today, after seeing my two younger brothers, mid-### aged, get into their first physical fight over bad decisions decided under the influence of opiates, I have decided I am laying down the Subutex and going Cold Turkey so that I can be a role model for my brothers and show them we need to be clean again, not just off of the pills, but off of the "treatment" that is still an addiction. The pain is horrible. It's nearly impossible. But, I know if I ask God, and I have a prayer team (you) praying for me, anything is possible. It is my prayer, that my temptations will be invisible, my courage and determination will be strong, my pain will be lightened, and my brothers' eyes will be opened as well as their hearts softened. I pray that I can make it through this and that it will be short-lived pain, but a life long lesson. Lord, our Father, please be with me during this journey and ease my pain and pass this as quickly as possible. In Jesus Name I Pray. AMEN.
