When watching the news sometimes,I get a strong feeling of the soon to come new world We hear of the things happening that were predicted to happen, earthquakes, wars, moral collapse. But then ,a few days after, one could watch the news and for the next few days its boring ,day to day news.Soooo......point,its not happening itn a straight line.We get birthing 1 there might be a gap before birthing 2.I would have thought the countdown woukd be more straightened I dont understand this wavering, but then again,if compared to birthing pangs they at first start out spread out. Also,Jesus said these things must happen first, but the end is not yet.So...I guess now we're in the "wavering"stage.

We understand your heartfelt concern and the sense of urgency you feel as you observe the signs of the times. The world indeed seems to be groaning under the weight of sin, much like a woman in labor, as Scripture describes. Jesus Himself spoke of these days in Matthew 24, warning us of wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, and moral decay, signs that would precede His return. Yet He also cautioned, "But the end is not yet" (Matthew 24:6 WEB), and "All these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately" (Matthew 24:8 WEB).

The "wavering" you describe is not a sign of delay but rather the nature of God’s sovereign timing. Just as labor pains begin sporadically before intensifying, so too are the signs of the end times unfolding in ways that may seem uneven to us. The apostle Peter reminds us, "But don’t forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:8-9 WEB). The Lord’s patience is an expression of His mercy, giving more time for souls to turn to Him before the final day.

We must also guard our hearts against speculation or setting dates, for Jesus warned, "But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only" (Matthew 24:36 WEB). Instead of focusing on the timing, let us focus on faithfulness. Jesus calls us to "watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes" (Matthew 24:42 WEB). Watching means living in readiness, walking in holiness, and sharing the gospel with urgency, knowing that the fields are white for harvest (John 4:35 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that long for the return of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We see the signs of the times and feel the weight of the world’s brokenness. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment to understand Your ways, even when they seem mysterious to us. Help us not to grow weary or distracted by the ebb and flow of events but to remain steadfast in faith, hope, and love.

Father, we thank You for Your patience, which allows more souls to come to repentance. Give us a burden for the lost and the courage to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. May we live as lights in this dark world, reflecting Your truth and grace in all we do. Strengthen our faith, Lord, so that we may endure until the end, whether that end comes in our lifetime or beyond.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and confusion that would seek to distract us from Your purposes. Instead, fill us with Your peace and the assurance that Your promises are true. Help us to trust in Your perfect timing, knowing that You are in control. May we be found faithful when Christ returns, having lived lives that honor You in every way.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Remember, dear brother or sister, that our role is not to predict the hour but to persevere in faith. Let us encourage one another with these words: "Therefore encourage one another, and build each other up, even as you also do" (1 Thessalonians 5:11 WEB). Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and let His return be a source of hope and motivation to live for Him each day.

We notice you’ve already put your finger on something real, something Jesus Himself warned would come: the rhythm of these things will feel uneven. You compared it to birthing pangs, and that’s exactly the picture Scripture gives, they start spread out, and there can be stretches where it all just seems quiet and ordinary. That “wavering” stage you’re feeling isn’t a sign that things aren’t unfolding; it’s the very shape the waiting takes for most of God’s people through most of history. The news cycle thrives on making us feel like we’re always right on the edge, and when life goes back to the daily grind, it can leave us oddly unsettled, almost as if the letdown itself means something. But the lulls aren’t a contradiction, they’re the space where ordinary faithfulness is forged.

What helps us is remembering Jesus was also clear that no one knows the day or hour, and He called us not to a frantic watch of headlines but to a steady, day-by-day following of Him, looking out for our neighbors, doing our given work, and staying prayerful. You’re not missing anything when the news gets “boring”, you’re living the days we’re actually called to live, with our hope anchored not in a countdown but in the risen Christ who holds every timeline.

We can pray together:

Lord Jesus, thank You that the timing of all things rests in Your hands, not in our understanding. Help our friend settle into the peace that comes from trusting You rather than needing to read the signs perfectly. Guard their heart from anxiety when events seem to speed up, and from confusion when they seem to stall. Give them wisdom to know when to look up in hope and when to simply go about the good work You’ve set before them today. In Your name we pray, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬

The wavering you observe is the very design our Lord foretold. He did not promise a swift, unbroken rush toward the consummation, but rather the slow, sorrowful rhythm of birth pangs. There shall be earthquakes, wars, and moral decay, these are “the beginning of sorrows,” not the end itself. The body of this world labors, and between the throes there are seasons of quiet, even of deceptive calm. You are right to see a gap between birthing one and birthing two. That space is not a contradiction of the prophecy but its confirmation. The end is not yet. Let none be troubled as though something strange were happening; all these things must come to pass, and the patient waiting of the saints is part of the divine ordination.

It is the patience of the Scriptures you are now called to learn, not the patience of a stoic who refuses to feel, nor of a brute beast that cannot complain, but the patience of a child who believes in his Father’s love and trusts the appointed times. The world’s scaffold still stands; the Gospel must yet be preached for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come. While the news oscillates between terror and tedium, your own soul is being disciplined. Between here and Heaven there is no guarantee of a glassy sea, but there is an anchor. Do not mistake delay for divine indifference, He sees the end from the beginning, and He holds the clue to every labyrinth.

Draw near to God when the news breathes hot and terrible, and draw near still when the days grow dull. Enter into your chamber, shut your door about you, and hide yourself as it were for a little moment until the indignation be overpast. Before or in times of trouble, the sweet call remains: “Come, My people.” And if your own sin rises up to accuse you as you watch the world unravel, remember the greater, settled end, Christ has made an end of sin. He has sealed it up, finished transgression, and brought in everlasting righteousness. That work is no wavering thing. It stands fast, and all who hide themselves in Him are safe, whether the earth shake or the news grow silent. Watch, pray, and let patience have her perfect work.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

You know, life can be stressful with troublesome or uncertain situations. So I must admit, since I keep facing that, I look at the Rapture and on into the new world as an "escape." Not completely unBiblical. ("When you see these things begin to happen, lifting up your heads, for your deliverance...

I don't know if I'm the first one to notice this, but we see events unfolding that line up with what we've been reading about the last days. BUT, just as it seems that we're "right at the cusp," it dies down, and things go back to the regular day-to-day life. And it wavers back and forth. The...
