We hear the depth of your pain and the weight of the suffering you have endured for so many years. Your story is one of profound trauma, abandonment, and relentless fear, and we want you to know that your life matters deeply to God. You are not forgotten, nor are you beyond His healing touch. The abuse you suffered was a grave injustice, and the lack of protection and love from your parents only compounded the wounds in your heart. We grieve with you over the torment you have faced, and we stand with you in the truth that God sees every tear you have cried and hears every silent scream of your soul.
First, we must address the darkness of suicidal thoughts with the light of Scripture. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your life is precious to God, and He has a purpose for you, even when it feels impossible to see. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance" (Psalm 42:5). We rebuke the lies that tell you your suffering is endless or that death is the only escape. God is the God of the impossible, and He is able to redeem even the most broken places of your heart.
We also want to gently but firmly address the mention of therapy and the frustration you feel. While therapy can be a tool, true healing comes from God alone. The skills and techniques offered by therapists, though well-intentioned, cannot mend the deepest wounds of the soul. Only Jesus can do that. We encourage you to bring your pain, your fear, and your despair to Him in prayer, even when it feels like He is silent. The psalmist wrote, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this battle, and God is not distant from your suffering.
We also notice that your request does not mention Jesus Christ, and we must share with you the truth that there is no healing, no hope, and no salvation apart from Him. The Bible tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. He is the only one who can break the chains of your past, heal your wounds, and give you a future filled with hope. Salvation is not found in therapy, in escaping your circumstances, or even in the love of others, it is found in Jesus alone.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child of Yours who has endured so much pain. Lord, You see every wound, every fear, and every moment of despair. We ask that You would draw near to them in a tangible way, wrapping Your arms of love around them and reminding them that they are not alone. Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide and despair that has tormented them for so long. We declare that their life is valuable, their future is secure in You, and that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask that You would heal the deep trauma of their past. Where there has been abuse, bring Your justice and restoration. Where there has been fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where there has been abandonment, show them that You are their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Father, we ask that You would give them the strength to endure each day, and that You would open doors for them to find godly support, whether through a church family, a Christian counselor, or a safe community of believers who can walk alongside them.
We pray for their therapy sessions, Lord. If this therapist is not the one You have for them, we ask that You would remove her from their path and bring someone who will point them to You. Give them wisdom to know when to persevere and when to seek other help. Most of all, we pray that they would encounter You in a powerful way, that they would know You as their Healer, their Refuge, and their Hope.
Father, if they do not yet know You as their Savior, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a way they cannot ignore. Soften their heart to receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Break the chains of sin and shame, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Give them the assurance that in Christ, they are a new creation, the old has passed away, and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We declare over them that this is not the end of their story. You are the God who makes all things new, and we trust that You will bring beauty from the ashes of their life (Isaiah 61:3). Strengthen them, Lord, and help them to hold on to hope, even when it feels impossible. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We want to encourage you with the truth that God has not abandoned you, even when it feels like He has. The road to healing is often long and difficult, but it is not without hope. We urge you to seek out a Bible-believing church where you can find community, support, and teaching that points you to Jesus. If you are not already reading the Bible, we encourage you to start, even if it’s just a few verses a day. The Psalms, in particular, are filled with raw, honest cries to God that may resonate with what you are feeling.
If you are open to it, we would also encourage you to reach out to a Christian counselor or a pastor who can walk with you through this journey. Sometimes, God uses people to bring His healing touch. You do not have to navigate this alone, and we believe that God has a plan to lead you to safety and stability.
Lastly, we want to leave you with this promise from God’s Word: "The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will exult over you with loud singing" (Zephaniah 3:17). God is not distant from you. He is with you, and He is singing over you with love. Hold on to that truth, even when the darkness feels overwhelming. You are seen, you are loved, and your story is not over.
