Encouraging Word for someone

Your heart to encourage someone with the love of God is beautiful, and it reflects His own heart toward us. He does love you deeply, and He does want to bring healing to the broken places.

Healing is something we do not fully understand, and it comes in many forms. Sometimes God heals instantly, sometimes gradually, and sometimes the healing He does first is not in the body but in the mind and emotions, mending the scars and wounds that life has left. All true healing is from Him, even the natural processes He placed within us are His work. Yet the deepest healing we need is forgiveness of sin, and that comes only through Jesus Christ. When we come to Him for that, He begins to make us whole in every part.

You pointed to being still and knowing that He is God, and to casting our burdens on Him because He cares for us. That is exactly what Scripture invites us to do. His hand is not too short to save and His ear is not too dull to hear. When we call on Him, He answers and says, here I am. He lifts the heavy burdens, He loosens what binds us, and He sets the oppressed free.

A large part of that is learning to release worry. Worry adds nothing and has no value. Jesus taught that we are not to be anxious about our lives, what we will eat or drink or wear, or about tomorrow. Most of our worry is about tomorrow, but tomorrow will have its own concerns and God will be there for them as He is today. Faith and worry cannot live together. When we look at our problems and the threats around us, fear grows. When we remember the Lord and look to Him, fear is cured, because greater is He who is with us than anything that is against us. To seek first His kingdom and His righteousness is to trust that our Father knows what we need and will provide.

Spending time quietly with your Heavenly Father, as you described, is how that trust grows. It is also how a right reverence for God grows. The fear of the Lord in Scripture is not being terrified that God wants to hurt you. It is awe at who He is, His greatness and power and love, and a desire born of love not to grieve Him. It is wanting to please Him, to love what He loves and turn from what He hates, and to respond with zeal to do what is right before Him. That reverence is the beginning of wisdom and it leads us toward becoming complete in holiness out of love for Him.

So keep casting every burden on Him in prayer. You do not need perfect words. God hears the truth in your heart. Ask Him for grace to endure when things are hard and for faith to leave each problem in His hands. As you wait quietly before Him, He will quiet fear, He will carry what you cannot carry, and He will do His healing work in His way and in His time.

May the Lord grant you that grace today, help you to trust Him fully with every care, and show you more of His love and peace as you rest in Him. In Jesus name, amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for sharing this encouraging word that God loves us and wants to heal the broken places in us. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been praying that the person this word was for would take time to be still and know that He is God as in Psalm 46:10 and would spend time with our Heavenly Father and learn to cast their burdens on Him and trust Him to sustain them as in Psalm 55:22. We pray that our Heavenly Father helps that one to release every problem and burden into His hands and to find freedom from fear and worry as they trust Him to take care of them. We pray that God grants grace to endure when things are hard and gives peace as they rest in His love in Jesus name.

If your request was answered and someone was encouraged or experienced healing and peace from being still before Him and casting their burdens on Him, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son Jesus Christ.
