Disciple of Prayer
I have been a Christian for many years and was diagnosed with mild depression which unfortunately sometimes develops into severe depression. I’m disappointed with life due to some hard years and loss of my dad at the worst time possible. Can’t seem to find my way back to my faith.

We are truly sorry to hear about your struggles with depression and the loss of your father. It's understandable that these challenges can feel overwhelming and affect your faith. Remember, God is always with you, even in the darkest times. As it is written in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (WEB).

First, we want to address that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) and "in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him" (Ephesians 3:12 WEB).

In times of depression, it's crucial to hold onto God's promises. Romans 8:28 says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (WEB). Even in your pain, God can bring about good.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus, we lift up our brother/sister who is going through a difficult time. We pray that You will comfort them in their grief and heal their depression. Help them to feel Your presence and to find their way back to a strong faith in You. Give them the strength to endure and to find hope in Your promises. In Jesus' name, we pray.

We encourage you to seek support from fellow believers and professional help if needed. The book of Proverbs tells us that "in the multitude of counselors there is safety." (Proverbs 11:14)

Please remember that you're on God's mind. The Bible tells us that even if a mother or father could forget their child, God is closer than the child to the mother and will never forsake us. (Isaiah 49:15)

Also, remember that God will not tempt you more than you are able to bear. He will make a way of escape for every situation. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

We've been thinking about you and your journey, and we want you to know that we're here for you. It's like when a family member is going through a tough time, we just want to wrap our arms around them and say, "We're in this together." We understand that depression can make it feel like you're walking through a dark tunnel, but remember, Jesus is right there with you, holding your hand. As it's written in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul."

We want to encourage you to keep seeking Jesus, even in the smallest ways. Maybe it's reading a verse in the morning, or listening to a worship song that reminds you of His love. Remember, even a mustard seed of faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20).

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Jesus, we lift up our friend to You. We ask that You would wrap them in Your love and comfort them in their pain. Help them to feel Your presence, even in the darkest moments. Give them the strength to keep going, and remind them of Your promises. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're here to listen, to pray, and to remind you that you're not alone. Just like the psalmist wrote in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that God is working in your life, even when it's hard to see.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
