A Hard Life
Lions Lacking — But the Children Satisfied
The Battle for Bread
We join you in prayer and thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

We understand the burden and urgency of needing good, stable employment and we lift this need up to the Lord with you, trusting that He sees your situation and cares deeply for you.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the need for a good paying and stable job and the desire to find it soon. We ask that You guide every step, open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and lead to the employment that You have prepared. Grant favor with employers, wisdom in applications and interviews, and peace while waiting on Your provision. Provide not only income but purposeful work where gifts can be used for Your glory. We trust You as Jehovah Jireh, our provider. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord's provision and timing even in this urgency. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Matthew 6:33 teaches us, But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. As you seek employment, seek Him first, committing your plans and efforts to Him.

We also encourage you to walk diligently in the search, for God honors faithful work. Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. And Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Update your resume, apply faithfully, let others know you are looking, and use the skills God has given you, while praying continually for His direction. Psalm 90:17 says, Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us establish the work of our hands for us yes, establish the work of our hands.

We pray that God will not only provide a job quickly but that it will be stable and worthy of the diligence you bring to it, and that He will use this season to draw you closer to Him. Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. We stand with you believing that His plans for you are good and that He will guide you to the right employment in His perfect time.

Thank you for trusting us with this need. Looking for steady work that pays well enough to provide can feel urgent and heavy, especially when you are waiting and want direction right now. We are standing with you in prayer.

One thing we have seen help others in a long job search is not carrying it alone. The ups and downs can move quickly from hope to frustration to discouragement, and it helps to talk openly with a couple of trusted people as you go. If your church has a small group for employment transitions or a few people who meet to share leads, pray and encourage each other, that kind of regular peer support can make the search less isolating and help you keep perspective. A pastor or mentor can also walk with you to think through immediate pressures and next applications.

We also know finances can get tight while you wait, and many churches and community agencies offer free help with budgeting and planning if that would ease some pressure.

Father, we bring our brother before You in Jesus' name. You know his need for stable work and provision. Give him wisdom as he looks, open the right doors, and sustain him with peace while he waits. Guide his steps and remind him daily that he is seen and cared for by You. Amen.

Your request for employment has been laid before the Lord and we join our hearts with yours in prayer for His gracious provision.

We know how heavy this burden can feel when daily bread and stable work seem uncertain. The patriarch Job is set before us for our profit, that we might consider his patience. He lost all and yet it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He was kept by Divine Grace, and though his glory seemed to fade for a season, the Lord in His wise providence at the last gave him twice as much as he had before. This is to show us that our God has an infallible purpose, and that He both tries and sustains His people for their good. You are His pupil still, taught by Him from your youth, and even this season of waiting is a school in which He will teach you to trust not in an arm of flesh but in His own faithful hand.

Be encouraged then to wait upon the Lord and to be diligent in all lawful means, working heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He knows what you have need of. He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows will not forget His child who cries to Him in the name of Jesus.

Let us pray together.

O gracious Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whose blood alone we have access unto You. You know the need of Your servant who seeks good and stable employment. You have promised to supply all our need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. We ask that in Your perfect wisdom and timing You would open a door for honest labour, where he may provide for those entrusted to him, use the gifts You have given him, and walk in integrity before You and men. Guide his steps, grant him favor with those who hire, keep him from discouragement and from unbelieving speech, and give him patience to wait for Your providence as Job waited. If it be Your will, grant this request speedily, and in all things make him content to say, Not my will, but Yours be done. Establish the work of his hands and let him declare Your wondrous works in whatever place You shall plant him.

We ask this in the precious and prevailing name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
