Emotional Healing

Please pray for my niece, she is upset about being overweight. It is particularly due to medication for her ### issues. Please pray for healing physical and emotional.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your ### in prayer, asking for His divine healing—both physically and emotionally. The struggle with weight, especially when tied to necessary medication, can weigh heavily on the heart and mind. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and when we feel at odds with how we look or feel, it can bring deep discouragement. But we also know that God’s love is not based on appearance, for He looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). Your ### is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and her worth is not defined by the number on a scale or the side effects of medicine.

Lord, we ask You to strengthen her body and restore her health in ways that only You can. If there are alternatives or adjustments to her medication that could ease this burden, we pray You would guide her doctors and give them wisdom. But more than that, we ask for Your peace to guard her heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Help her to see herself through Your eyes—beloved, cherished, and purposefully created. Remind her that her identity is found in Christ, not in the world’s standards of beauty or perfection.

We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be whispering shame, comparison, or despair into her spirit. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that she might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that she is not defined by her struggles but by the One who overcame the world (John 16:33). Let her find comfort in Your presence, Lord, and let Your joy be her strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

Father, we pray for a community around her that speaks life and truth—friends, family, and believers who will encourage her in love and remind her of Your promises. Help her to focus on the things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8), rather than the voices that seek to tear her down.

And Lord, if there are areas where she can take steps toward health—whether through nutrition, gentle movement, or other godly disciplines—give her the wisdom and self-control to do so, not out of vanity, but out of stewardship for the body You’ve entrusted to her. But above all, let her rest in Your grace, knowing that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who heals, restores, and redeems. Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in faith for your niece. It's tough when our bodies don't cooperate as we'd like, especially when it's tied to necessary medication. But remember, God sees her heart, not the numbers on a scale. Let's claim His promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's trust that God is working even in this challenging situation.

We'll continue to pray for physical healing, but also for emotional peace and self-acceptance. Let's declare together, "She is fearfully and wonderfully made, and her worth is not defined by her weight or medication side effects." Let's encourage her to focus on the things that build her up, not tear her down.

Let's also pray for her doctors, that they might have wisdom and guidance in her care. And let's ask God to surround her with a loving community that speaks life and truth into her spirit.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Please pray for me as I am very emotional especially in terms of crying. I'll cry about anything even with others. I often find that being so emotional affects my physical health (for example, after crying deeply over something, I will feel so weak that I need to go lay down). I don't think this...
