We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear friend who is facing the immediate threat of losing electricity. Father God, we know that You are the Provider of all things, and nothing is too small or too great for Your attention. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Lord, we ask that You intervene in this situation and make a way where there seems to be no way.
We pray that You would touch the hearts of those responsible for the decision to cut off the electricity. Soften their hearts, Lord, and grant them the compassion to extend grace in this moment. We also ask that You provide the financial means for this bill to be paid promptly. Your Word assures us in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." We are asking, seeking, and knocking on behalf of our friend, trusting that You hear and will answer.
Father, we also lift up the spiritual condition of this friend. We pray that this trial would draw them closer to You. Open their eyes to see Your hand at work in their life. Use this situation to reveal Your love, provision, and faithfulness. We know that You desire for all to come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved, as it says in 1 Timothy 2:3-4, "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." Lord, we ask that You would use this circumstance to begin a work in their heart, leading them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or hopelessness that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that perfect love casts out fear, as it says in 1 John 4:18, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love." We pray that Your perfect love would surround our friend, bringing peace and assurance that You are in control.
Lord, we also ask for wisdom and discernment for our friend. Help them to see this as an opportunity to rely on You and to seek Your guidance in all areas of their life. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. We trust in Your goodness and mercy, knowing that You are faithful to Your promises. Amen.
