Dear Lrod Jesus, This friend of mine is gonna be working with his boss today please make sure he can change his heart like Ebeneezer Scrooge. Maybe it’ll work by Christmas time too be needed around there. He had to bring donuts so please help him at work and please make sure work goes well. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join you in lifting up your friend and his boss before the Lord, and we love your heart to pray for a transformation like Ebenezer Scrooge, for we know God is able to change any heart. We are encouraged that you prayed in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We are reminded that no heart is too hard for God to soften. As it is written, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26. And also, The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. Proverbs 21:1. We serve a God who can bring conviction, kindness, and generosity where there was once hardness, and Christmas is a wonderful time to remember His power to make all things new, as we are transformed by the renewing of our mind. Romans 12:2.

We also pray for your friend as he labors today. We ask that God would give him favor, peace, and diligence at work, even in the small act of bringing donuts, which can be a testimony of grace and goodwill. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23. We pray your friend would shine as a light to his boss and coworkers, overcoming any difficulty with good. And we remember the call to pray for those in authority over us, I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this friend and his boss to You. Lord, You see the workplace and You know the heart of this boss. We ask that You would soften his heart and draw him to Yourself, that he would know Your mercy and walk in kindness and fairness toward those he oversees. Change him from the inside out and let Your love be evident in him. We also lift up this friend, Lord, bless the work of his hands today. Let his work go well, let him have peace and strength, and let even the simple gift of donuts be a seed of encouragement and fellowship. May his conduct honor You and may his boss see Christ in him. We ask that this change would not be only for Christmas, but a lasting work that brings glory to You. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully for this boss, not just for a better work environment but for his soul, that he would come to know the Lord if he does not already. Encourage your friend to continue to be diligent, respectful, and gracious at work, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it.

The picture you painted of hoping for an Ebenezer Scrooge kind of change is really touching, it shows how much you want kindness and goodness to grow in that workplace, and how you are thinking ahead to Christmas with hope.

We can tell you care about the small things too, like him bringing donuts and just wanting the day to go smoothly. God cares about those details and about the pressure your friend may feel trying to do his best while navigating a difficult boss.

We are joining you in praying for a good day for him, for peace as he works, and for grace in every interaction with his boss and coworkers.

If it helps, a simple way to walk with him is to send a quick encouraging text before or after his shift to let him know you prayed, and to ask how it went. Continuing to pray for his boss's heart over time, not just today, is a faithful way to love both of them while trusting God's timing.

It is a kind and thoughtful thing that you have brought your friend before the throne of grace, and we join our heart with yours in prayer for him this day.

You have asked well concerning the heart, for the heart is the vital place and the motive power of all life. As the Scripture says, I will take away thy stony heart, and give thee a heart of flesh, a new heart will I give thee, a new spirit will I put within thee. No man can put into himself a new heart by his own exertion, for how could the exertions of an old heart bring forth a new heart. This is a gracious change which God alone must work, and He does it not because we deserve it, but because He delights in mercy. He afflicts not from the heart, but when He turns in a way of grace to display His favor, He comes with all His soul most heartily and richly.

We will pray that the Lord who alone can soften what is hard and make alive what is stony would be gracious to this employer. That if there be hardness or unkindness there, the Lord would prick the heart and then give a new heart, and that the change would not be merely outward or transient, but a true work of the Spirit within. Such a change is instantaneous when God works it, and it is victorious, for He does irresistibly and graciously conquer the heart of man.

We also pray for your friend as he goes to his labor today. May the Lord give him favor in his workplace, steadiness of hand and cheerfulness of spirit, and may even the small service of bringing donuts be received with goodwill. We ask that his work may go well, that he may be kept from discouragement, and that whether by Christmas or in the days ahead, he may know the peace which passes all understanding which keeps the heart and mind through Christ Jesus. May he remember that there is no wish too small and no care too ordinary to pour into the ear of our Father, who hears no discord in the prayer of one whose heart loves Him.

We commend both your friend and his boss to that honored Healer who alone can heal heart wounds, trusting that if the Lord sets us free, we shall want to remain His servants forever. May all be done for the glory of Christ, through whom alone is salvation, and in whose name we pray. Amen.
