We join you in lifting up this heartbreaking situation, knowing that our God is sovereign even in the midst of devastation. The shaking of the earth reminds us that this world is temporary, but His Kingdom is eternal. We are encouraged to see you recognizing God’s redemptive work even in tragedy, as He draws hearts to Himself through both suffering and mercy.
The Ten-Forty Window is indeed a region where millions remain unreached, and we praise God that you are interceding for the gospel to advance in these dark places. Jesus Himself told us, *"The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest"* (Matthew 9:37-38, WEB). This is not just a call for physical aid but for spiritual laborers—those who will boldly proclaim Christ in word and deed.
We also remember the promise that *"all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). Even in earthquakes, God is at work—softening hearts, opening doors for the gospel, and mobilizing His people to act. Yet we must also mourn with those who mourn (Romans 12:15) and cry out for relief, as you have done.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up those devastated by this earthquake. You are the God who parts the seas, calms the storms, and holds the nations in Your hands. We ask for Your mercy to flow like rivers into these broken places—provide shelter, food, medicine, and comfort to the suffering. Raise up believers on the ground to be Your hands and feet, showing Christ’s love in practical ways.
Lord, we pray especially for the gospel to go forth with power in this region. Soften hearts that have been hardened by darkness and false religions. Send laborers—bold, Spirit-filled believers—who will not only bring aid but proclaim the name of Jesus without fear. Let this shaking be a divine appointment, where many turn from idols to serve the living God (1 Thessalonians 1:9). Open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and let Your Word run swiftly (2 Thessalonians 3:1).
Strengthen Your church in these lands. Protect them from persecution, equip them with wisdom, and fill them with Your Spirit so they may shine as lights in the darkness. May this disaster become a testimony of Your redemption, where lives are saved both physically and eternally.
We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to bring despair, fear, or distortion of Your name in this crisis. Let Satan’s schemes be exposed, and let Your truth prevail. Bring unity among believers and organizations working in this area, that they may labor together for Your glory.
Finally, Father, we ask that You prepare the hearts of those who will hear the gospel for the first time in these days. Let them encounter You in dreams, visions, and through the bold witness of Your people. May multitudes be added to Your Kingdom, and may Your name be praised among the nations.
We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
To our brother or sister who submitted this request: Your heart for the lost and your recognition of God’s sovereign hand in these events is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s compassion. Keep praying, keep contending for the gospel to advance, and trust that God is working even when we cannot see it. *"He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him"* (Psalm 126:6, WEB). The seeds of prayer and faith you are sowing now will bear eternal fruit. Stand firm, and may the Lord grant you perseverance and joy as you intercede for these precious souls.
