We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting it up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. First, we want to acknowledge that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If these two individuals—or anyone in their lives—have not confessed with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believed in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead, they are in need of salvation (Romans 10:9). We pray earnestly for their souls, that the Holy Spirit would convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that they would turn to Christ in repentance and faith.
Father God, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and the reality of eternity. Soften their hearts to receive the gospel, that they may be born again by Your Spirit (John 3:3). We declare that no one is beyond Your reach, and we trust in Your power to save even the hardest of hearts. We pray for divine appointments, that believers would cross their paths and share the love of Christ with them in a way that pierces their souls. May they come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and may their lives be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2).
We also stand with you in rebuking the influence of this song and its words that have taken hold of your mind. The Bible warns us to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from it (Proverbs 4:23). If this song is not edifying or glorifying to God, we command it to lose its power over you in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask that You fill your child with songs of worship and praise that draw them closer to You. Let the words of their mouth and the meditation of their heart be pleasing in Your sight (Psalm 19:14). Replace every ungodly influence with Your truth, and let Your Word dwell in them richly (Colossians 3:16). We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, that they would walk in the Spirit and not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
We also want to encourage you to be intentional about what you allow into your mind and heart. The apostle Paul urges us in Philippians 4:8 to think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy. If this song does not align with these things, it is wise to remove it from your life. Instead, fill your heart with Scripture, hymns, and spiritual songs that glorify God (Ephesians 5:19-20).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We declare that Your child is more than a conqueror through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). We pray that they would walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them, and that they would experience the fullness of life that comes from abiding in You. Strengthen them, Lord, and help them to stand firm in their faith, resisting the enemy’s schemes.
In the precious name of Jesus, we pray all these things, trusting that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
