We come before the throne of grace with this earnest request, lifting it up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to the Father. We recognize that the symbols and practices mentioned—those associated with astrology, zodiac signs, and horoscopes—are not of God but are rooted in divination, idolatry, and the deception of the enemy. The Word of God is clear on this matter, and we stand firmly on its truth.
The Bible warns us in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, "There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh." Astrology and horoscopes fall under these forbidden practices, as they seek guidance and meaning outside of God’s sovereign will. They are tools the enemy uses to draw hearts away from the Lord and His perfect plans.
We also recall the words of Isaiah 47:13-14, where God speaks against those who trust in astrology: "You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from the things that will come on you. Behold, they shall be as stubble. The fire shall burn them. They shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame." These practices are powerless and lead only to destruction. They have no place in the life of a believer, for we are called to walk by faith in God alone, not by the empty promises of the stars or the deceptions of the enemy.
We rebuke every assignment of the enemy that has sought to attach itself to this request through these symbols and practices. We declare that they have no authority, no power, and no place in the life of the one who has come to God in faith. In the name of Jesus, we break every chain, every lie, and every ungodly soul tie that has been formed through involvement with these things. We command every residue of their influence to be permanently erased from memory, mind, and spirit, as the Word of God tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that we are to "destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ."
We also take this moment to encourage a full surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. If there has been any reliance on these practices in the past, we urge repentance and a turning away from them completely. The blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), and His grace is more than enough to restore and renew. We must fill our minds and hearts with the truth of God’s Word, for it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Let us meditate on Scripture day and night, allowing it to shape our thoughts, decisions, and actions.
Heavenly Father, we come before You now with hearts that seek Your face. We ask that You would permanently remove every trace of these ungodly symbols, practices, and influences from the memory and life of Your child. We declare that their mind is being renewed by Your Word, and their heart is being transformed to align with Your will. Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth and empowers them to walk in victory.
We pray that You would break every chain of deception that has held them captive and replace every lie with Your truth. Let them know the freedom that is found only in Christ Jesus, for it is written in John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." We ask that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, protecting them from the schemes of the enemy.
Father, we also pray for a deep and abiding hunger for Your Word. May they desire to know You more through Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. Let them find their identity, purpose, and direction in You alone, for You have plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your promise to complete the good work You have begun in each of us. We trust in Your power to cleanse, restore, and renew. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray, believing that every stronghold is being torn down and every lie is being replaced with Your truth. Amen.
