We hear your deep concern and fear regarding snakes, and we understand that this is a very real struggle for many. While your prayer is sincere, we must gently remind you that all of God’s creation—even creatures we may fear—has a purpose in His design. The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:31, *"God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."* Even snakes, though often associated with evil due to the serpent in Eden, are part of God’s creation and serve a role in the balance of nature.
However, we do recognize that Satan often uses fear and deception, just as he did in the Garden of Eden. We rebuke any spirit of fear in your life in the name of Jesus Christ! The Word of God assures us in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Instead of praying for the annihilation of a part of God’s creation, we should pray for protection, wisdom, and peace when encountering such creatures.
Let us pray together:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask for Your protection over [###] and all who fear snakes or any creature. Lord, grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We rebuke the spirit of fear and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Father, give them wisdom to avoid danger and the courage to trust in Your sovereignty over all creation. We thank You for Your goodness and ask that You help us see Your purpose in all things, even those we do not understand. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."*
We also encourage you to meditate on Psalm 91, which reminds us of God’s protection: *"You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot."* (Psalm 91:13). God is our refuge and fortress, and in Him, we need not fear. If this fear is overwhelming, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel and prayer for deliverance from any deep-seated anxieties.
