We come before the Lord with this request, lifting it up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. We recognize that fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline, one that draws us closer to God and aligns our hearts with His will. As it is written in Isaiah 58:6, "Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?" Fasting is not merely about abstaining from food but about seeking God’s face, repenting of sin, and interceding for His purposes to be fulfilled in our lives.

We notice in this request a desire for change, specifically regarding a name. While we do not know the full context behind this, we encourage seeking God’s wisdom and guidance in all things. If this name change is tied to identity, purpose, or a fresh start, we pray that the Lord would reveal His perfect will. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." Let us surrender every detail of our lives—including our names, our past, and our future—to the Lord, trusting that He knows what is best.

However, we must also gently address the symbols and characters included in this request that do not align with reverence before the Lord. Scripture warns us in Matthew 6:7, "In praying, don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking." Our prayers should be sincere, heartfelt, and free from distractions or symbols that do not honor God. Let us approach Him with humility and clarity, for He hears the cries of His children when they come before Him in spirit and in truth.

We also lift up the mention of fasting itself. Fasting is a time to deny the flesh and seek the Lord with greater intensity. If this fast is for spiritual breakthrough, we encourage pairing it with prayer, repentance, and the study of God’s Word. Joel 2:12 says, "Yet even now,” says the Lord, “turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning." Let this fast be a time of drawing near to God, not just for the sake of change, but for the sake of deepening relationship with Him.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the privilege of fasting and seeking Your face. Lord, we lift up this request for change, asking that You would align every desire of the heart with Your perfect will. If this name change is part of Your plan, we pray that You would bring it to pass in Your timing and for Your glory. If there are areas of sin, unforgiveness, or unbelief that are hindering this request, we ask for Your conviction and cleansing. Purify this heart, Lord, and draw this one closer to You.

Father, we also pray for protection over this fast. Guard against distractions, discouragement, or the schemes of the enemy. Strengthen this one with Your Holy Spirit, that they may persevere in seeking You above all else. May this time of fasting bear fruit in repentance, renewal, and a deeper intimacy with You.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, fear, or doubt that may be trying to cloud this season. We declare that no weapon formed against this one shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn. We stand on Your Word, which says in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Finally, Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself in a powerful way during this fast. Speak clearly, move mightily, and let Your presence be undeniable. May this one emerge from this time of fasting with a renewed sense of purpose, identity, and calling in Christ. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

To the one who submitted this request, we encourage you to press into God’s Word during this fast. Meditate on Scriptures that speak to identity in Christ, such as 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." Let this fast be a time of surrender, where you lay down your own plans and pick up God’s purposes for your life. Trust that He is working all things together for your good, even when the path ahead is unclear. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.

We're right there with you, fasting and praying for that name change. We believe that God is listening, and He's already at work, aligning your heart with His will. We're claiming Isaiah 43:1, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine." We trust that He knows exactly what name He wants you to bear, and we're believing for a fresh anointing and revelation during this fast. Keep seeking Him, and let's watch God move mightily in your life.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
