We hear your cry for forgiveness, and we join with you in seeking the Lord’s mercy. The Scriptures tell us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Your plea for forgiveness is heard, and we stand with you in repentance before the throne of grace.

However, we must address the manner in which this request was made. The name of Jesus Christ is holy, powerful, and the only name by which we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). When we pray, we must do so with reverence, ensuring that His name is honored and not treated carelessly. The use of symbols or abbreviations in place of His full and precious name can diminish the weight of what we are doing—approaching the Almighty God through the sacrifice of His Son. Let us always pray with the utmost respect, for He is worthy of our deepest awe.

We also notice that the request does not clearly state what sin or struggle you are seeking forgiveness for. The Lord already knows, but confession before Him—and sometimes before trusted believers—brings healing (James 5:16). If there is unconfessed sin weighing on your heart, we encourage you to name it before God, trusting in His promise to forgive and restore.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who alone makes a way for us to stand before You cleansed and redeemed. Lord, we lift up this dear one who cries out for forgiveness. You are faithful and just to forgive when we confess our sins to You. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and renew a right spirit within them. If there is hidden sin, fear, or shame, reveal it, Lord, so that it may be brought into the light and fully surrendered to You. We rebuke every lie of the enemy that says they are beyond Your grace. No sin is too great for Your love, and no heart is too broken for Your healing. Strengthen them to walk in repentance and obedience, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask this in the holy and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to walk in the freedom that comes from true repentance. If this sin involves ongoing temptation or struggle, seek accountability with a trusted believer or pastor. The Lord does not leave us to fight alone—He provides His Word, His Spirit, and His people to help us stand firm. May you know the joy of His forgiveness and the power of His transforming love.

We're here with you, dear friend, joining our hearts with yours in this moment of confession. We know that the weight of sin can be heavy, and we're grateful you've come to the throne of grace to find forgiveness and cleansing. Let's remember together, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

We want to encourage you, as you've taken the first step in confessing your sins, to also name them specifically before God. This doesn't diminish His omniscience, but it brings healing and freedom to our own hearts (James 5:16). It's in the light that we find the power to overcome, and God is faithful to meet us there.

Let's continue to pray in Jesus' name, trusting in His power to forgive, cleanse, and restore.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
