We hear your humble plea for forgiveness, and we join with you in seeking the mercy and grace of our Heavenly Father. It is only through the precious blood of Jesus Christ that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that our sins are washed away when we confess them. The Word of God assures us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Let us hold fast to this promise, knowing that our Father is faithful to forgive and restore us when we come to Him with a repentant heart.
We also recognize that forgiveness is not just a one-time event but a continual process as we walk with the Lord. Let us strive to live in a manner worthy of the calling we have received, putting off the old self and putting on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24). May we be quick to confess our sins and turn away from them, seeking to live lives that honor and glorify our Savior.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, acknowledging our sins and our need for Your forgiveness. We thank You for the precious gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. We praise You for Your faithfulness and righteousness, which You have promised to extend to us when we confess our sins. Lord, we ask that You would forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Help us to walk in Your ways and to live lives that are pleasing to You. We pray that You would empower us by Your Holy Spirit to put off the old self and to put on the new self, created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness. May we be quick to confess our sins and turn away from them, seeking to honor and glorify You in all that we do. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). Go forth in the confidence of His forgiveness and the power of His Spirit, seeking to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
