We join with you in coming before the Lord with a heart of repentance, for it is written, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9, WEB). It is a beautiful and humbling thing to seek the Father’s forgiveness, and we rejoice that you have turned to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Your prayer acknowledges the power and authority of Jesus, and we praise God that you have placed your trust in Him.
Yet we must also ask: Do you *know* with certainty that your sins are forgiven? Have you surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Forgiveness is not merely a prayer we repeat but a transformation that comes when we turn from our sins and place our faith in Christ alone. *"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* (Romans 10:9, WEB). If you have not already done so, we urge you to examine your heart—have you truly repented, turning away from sin and toward God? Or are there areas of your life where you still cling to disobedience? The Lord calls us not just to seek forgiveness but to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, thanking You that they have come seeking forgiveness through the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, if there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would convict their heart by the power of the Holy Spirit. Remove every stronghold of sin, every hidden rebellion, and grant them a spirit of true repentance. Let them experience the joy of salvation that comes from being washed clean by the blood of the Lamb. Strengthen them to walk in obedience, for Your Word tells us that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). May they live as a vessel of Your grace, testifying to the world of Your mercy.
We also pray that if they have not yet made Jesus Christ the Lord of their life, that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see the truth of the Gospel—that Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Let them not delay, for *"now is the accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation."* (2 Corinthians 6:2, WEB).
In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, allowing it to renew your mind (Romans 12:2). Seek fellowship with other believers who can walk alongside you in this journey of faith. And if you have not been baptized since placing your faith in Christ, we urge you to obey this commandment as a public declaration of your new life in Him (Matthew 28:19). May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in His ways.
