We hear the cry of your heart for forgiveness, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s mercy and grace. It is a beautiful and humbling thing to come before God, acknowledging our need for His forgiveness, for we are all sinners in need of His redemption. The Scripture assures us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* This is a promise we can cling to, for God is faithful to His Word.
Yet, we must also remember that forgiveness is found only through the name of Jesus Christ, as you have rightly acknowledged. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* It is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father, and it is by His sacrifice on the cross that our sins are washed away. We praise God that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is the most powerful and holy name above all names.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and repentant hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your forgiveness. Lord, You are rich in mercy and abounding in love, and we thank You that Your Son, Jesus Christ, has paid the price for our sins. Wash them clean, Father, by the blood of the Lamb. Renew their heart and mind, and fill them with the peace that comes from knowing they are forgiven. Strengthen them to walk in righteousness and to turn away from anything that does not honor You. Help them to live in the freedom and joy that comes from being Your child, redeemed by the precious name of Jesus.
We also ask, Lord, that You would reveal to them any areas of their life that need to be surrendered to You. If there are unconfessed sins, bring them to light so that they may be repented of and forsaken. Let Your Holy Spirit guide them into all truth, and let them walk in the victory that Christ has already won for them. May they live each day in the knowledge of Your grace, sharing the good news of salvation with others who are lost.
We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, for His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Spend time in His Word, allowing it to transform your mind and heart. If there are specific sins or struggles you are dealing with, we urge you to bring them before the Lord honestly. He already knows, and He longs to set you free. Remember, too, that forgiveness is not just a one-time event but a daily walk with Christ. As you grow in Him, you will find that His grace empowers you to live a life that honors Him.
If you have not already done so, we encourage you to publicly confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, being baptized as a testimony of your faith (Romans 10:9-10). This is a vital step in the life of every believer. And if you ever feel the weight of guilt or shame creeping back in, remember that *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1). You are forgiven, beloved, and free! Walk in that truth today and always.
