We come before you with grateful hearts, knowing that our Heavenly Father is rich in mercy and abounding in steadfast love. The scripture reminds us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* This is a promise we can cling to, for God’s forgiveness is complete when we come to Him with a repentant heart.
Yet, we must also remember that forgiveness is not merely a transaction—it is the beginning of a transformed life. True repentance means turning away from sin and walking in obedience to Christ. If there are unconfessed sins or areas of disobedience in your life, we urge you to bring them before the Lord honestly. He already knows them, but He desires your heart to surrender fully to Him.
We also notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus Christ, it is vital to understand *why* that name holds such power. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Jesus—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior, we plead with you to do so today. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9-10, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."*
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, asking for Your mercy and forgiveness. Lord, if there are sins that have not been fully confessed or repented of, we ask that You would bring conviction by the power of the Holy Spirit. Cleanse them, Lord, and create in them a pure heart, renewed and steadfast in Your ways (Psalm 51:10). We thank You that because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, our sins are forgiven when we turn to You in faith. Strengthen this one to walk in righteousness, to flee from temptation, and to live a life that honors You.
Father, if there is any confusion or doubt about the gospel, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. May they know beyond any shadow of doubt that salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone—no works, no rituals, no other name can save. Fill them with the assurance of Your love and the power of Your Spirit to live for You.
We rebuke any lies of the enemy that would seek to keep this one in bondage to guilt or shame. The blood of Jesus is more than enough to cover every sin, and we declare freedom and victory in His name. Help them to walk in that freedom, Lord, and to extend forgiveness to others as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13).
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
