The Scripture reminds us in 1 Timothy 2:5, *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."* It is through Him alone that we find forgiveness and redemption.
You have asked for forgiveness, and we rejoice that the Word of God assures us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* This is a promise we can cling to with confidence, knowing that God is just and merciful.
Yet, we must also consider what it means to truly repent. Repentance is not merely asking for forgiveness in passing but turning away from sin and walking in obedience to God’s Word. Jesus Himself said in Luke 13:3, *"Unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."* Let us examine our hearts before the Lord, ensuring that our request for forgiveness is accompanied by a sincere commitment to leave behind the sins that so easily entangle us.
