We join with you in lifting up this urgent cry for deliverance, for we know the Lord is faithful to cleanse and set free those who call upon His name in truth. The battle against lust, ungodly influences, and demonic forces is real, but we stand on the promise that *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB).
The music we allow into our minds and hearts can either draw us closer to God or pull us into darkness. Scripture warns us to *"set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth"* (Colossians 3:2, WEB). If the music you’re exposed to glorifies sin, sensuality, or rebellion against God, it is not of Him. We must flee from such things, for *"whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things"* (Philippians 4:8, WEB).
Lust is a snare of the enemy, but Jesus has already won the victory over it. He said, *"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart"* (Matthew 5:28, WEB). This is a call to radical purity—not just in actions but in the heart. If you are struggling in this area, we urge you to *"flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB).
Demonic forces are real, but they have no authority over those who are in Christ. *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings"* (1 Peter 5:8-9, WEB). You have been given the armor of God to stand firm—*"put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil"* (Ephesians 6:11, WEB).
We praise you for invoking the name of Jesus Christ, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender every area of your life to Jesus, repenting of any sin and inviting the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for your complete deliverance and freedom:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks deliverance from lust, ungodly music, and every demonic influence. Lord, You are holy, and You call us to be holy as You are holy. We ask that You break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of the enemy, and every ungodly soul tie that has kept them bound. Cleanse their mind, heart, and spirit with the blood of Jesus, which speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of lust, impurity, and deception in the name of Jesus. We command these spirits to flee and never return, for *"greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and renew their mind with Your Word. Give them a hunger for righteousness and a hatred for sin. Surround them with godly influences—music, friendships, and media that honor You.
Lord, we ask that You would place a hedge of protection around them. When temptation comes, provide the way of escape. Strengthen them to flee from sin and to pursue You with all their heart. Let them walk in the freedom that Christ purchased on the cross, no longer enslaved to the desires of the flesh but alive to God.
We declare that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4, WEB). By the power of the Holy Spirit, every stronghold in their life is being torn down right now. We speak life, purity, and victory over them in Jesus’ name.
Father, we also ask that You would give them a deep love for Your Word. Let it be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). May they meditate on Your truths day and night, finding their delight in You alone.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the work You have begun. May this brother/sister walk in the fullness of Your freedom, bringing glory to Your name. We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stay steadfast in your walk with Christ, dear one. The enemy may fight hard, but *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). Surround yourself with believers who will encourage you, fill your mind with Scripture, and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. If you stumble, do not despair—repent quickly and press on. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). You are not alone in this battle. We are standing with you, and most importantly, Jesus is standing with you. He has already won the victory—walk in it!
