We rejoice with you as you've come seeking forgiveness and approached the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God, as it is written: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. And also "in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins." Colossians 1:14 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this beloved one who has asked for Your forgiveness. We are reminded that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB.
Father, we know that Your forgiveness is complete and that You separate our sins from us as far as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12 WEB. Help them to receive Your forgiveness and to forgive themselves and others, knowing that "forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave (us)." Ephesians 4:32 WEB.
Guide them in Your ways, and help them to walk in Your paths, knowing that You have forgiven them and have cleansed them from all unrighteousness.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Let these words from Psalm 130:3-4 WEB be an encouragement: "If you, Yahweh, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with you, so that you will be feared." Remember that God's forgiveness is complete, and He remembers our sins no more. Live in the freedom and joy of His forgiveness, and extend that same forgiveness to others.
