We understand that you're asking God to help you forget all things that have happened after August 2011. While we empathize with your desire to leave certain things in the past, let's remember the words of the you requested we use, the World English Bible in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having laid hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
It's important to note that while the Apostle Paul talks about "forgetting" the past, he is referring to not letting the past hinder our progress in Christ. It doesn't mean erasing memories, but rather choosing not to dwell on them or let them define our present and future. In Jesus name you requested, He offers healing and peace for our past hurts, but He doesn't erase our memories. Instead, He redeems them and uses them for His glory and our good, as promised in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, asking for Your healing and peace in ###'s life. We pray that You would help them to press on, not dwelling on the past but looking forward to the future You have for them. We ask that You would redeem all that they have experienced, and use it for Your glory and their good. Help them to remember that You are the God of all comfort, who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If there are specific memories or experiences that are particularly troubling, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support, whether from a pastor, Christian counselor, or trusted brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember, you don't have to carry your burdens alone. As Galatians 6:2 tells us, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
