Driving mercies

We join with you in asking our Heavenly Father for His driving mercies and protection over your family and your vehicle, and we thank you for coming in Jesus' name, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
We are reminded of His faithful watch over us as we travel, for Psalm 121:7-8 says Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. And Psalm 91:11 tells us For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.
We take comfort that the Lord is our keeper on every road and in every journey, and we trust Him to guide your hands and keep you alert and sober behind the wheel.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we ask for Your traveling mercies over this family. We ask that You place Your hand of protection upon them and upon their car each time they go out and each time they come in. Guard them from accident, from danger, from reckless drivers, and from mechanical failure. Give them wisdom, alertness, and peace as they drive, and let Your angels encamp around them. We also pray that You would give them diligence to maintain their vehicle and to drive with patience and self-control, honoring You in all things, for Proverbs 3:23 says Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble. Keep them safe for Your glory and bring them home in peace. We thank You, Father, that You hear us when we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. We appreciate you bringing your family and your travels before the Lord. The daily miles, the commutes and errands and longer trips together, all matter to Him, and we are glad to stand with you in asking for His care over each one.
It is a good and humble thing to ask for driving mercies. We often have little control over road conditions or other drivers, and turning that concern into a simple prayer helps keep our hearts at peace and our attention on Him as we go.
If it helps, many families find it steadying to take just a moment before pulling out to quietly commit the drive to the Lord together. Pairing that with the practical care of the car itself, regular checks on tires, brakes and lights, is another simple way to steward the safety you are praying for.
Father, we thank You for this family and for every trip You have already brought them through. It is a right and comely thing to ask the Lord for His keeping power as you take to the road, and to give Him thanks for mercies already received. Your prayer for your family and for protection in travel is heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.
How innumerable are the mercies of our God. If the mercies of one day would surpass all computation, what shall be said of a life lived as pensioners upon His lovingkindness. Every beating pulse increases the multitude of them, and every mile preserved is a new mercy, distinct and tender in itself, for His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness. We do well to count them if we can, and to tell with a sparkling eye of His goodness, yet every mercy bears the mark of the Redeemer's blood and comes to us by way of the Cross.
You ask for safe shelter, and Scripture gives you a sweet picture of it. The Lord spreads His wings over His people not only as a soldier shields a comrade, but as a mother hen gathers her young, with love and homeliness and heart working in it all. To abide under the shadow of the Almighty is not only to be protected from danger, but to be made to feel at home and at rest. The man that rests beneath the wings of the eternal God shall find each hour made safe, each place of difficulty and of danger still secure, and even amidst great perils, blessedly kept.
Therefore let it be your holy habit never to venture upon a single journey without first seeking Divine protection. How many have escaped terrible storms and yet have been overtaken in a calm, and how wise is the traveler who commits himself and his household to the Captain who has forearranged and foreordained all things. When we are upon our Lord's errands and walking in His way, we may rest in Him and His protection will be wonderfully spread over us.
We pray with you now, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our sure mercy and our living David. May the Lord keep you and your family in all your goings out and comings in, may He lay His hand upon the way before you, preserve you from harm, give wisdom and watchfulness to those who drive, and bring you safely to your journey's end. May your car and all who travel in it be under His gracious care, and may every safe arrival turn your heart to praise Him who alone is our refuge and shelter. We thank Him for mercies past and trust Him for mercies to come, for Jesus' sake. Amen.
