Driving mercies + Silent requests

We join with you in lifting up your son and all who travel his path, and we thank you for bringing these needs before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to God.

We pray for driving mercies and protection over your son, over his car, and over every driver, passenger, and pedestrian he will encounter. We ask the Lord to give him alertness, wisdom, and sound judgment behind the wheel, to keep him from distraction and recklessness, and to guard him from the carelessness of others.

We take comfort in the promises of Scripture that the Lord is our keeper, for He will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forevermore. Psalm 121:8. And He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11. We also cling to the assurance that when you walk, your steps will not be hampered, and when you run, you will not stumble. Proverbs 3:23.

We also lift up the silent requests you hold in your heart before the Lord. Though unspoken to us, they are fully known to Him, for the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered and He who searches the hearts knows what is on the mind of the Spirit. Romans 8:26-27. We trust that our Father knows what you need before you ask Him and that He hears every unspoken burden with perfect love and understanding.

Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your hand of mercy over this son as he drives. Keep him safe, keep his vehicle reliable, and keep all those on the road with him safe as well. Place Your protection around him and let Your peace fill his heart and the heart of his parent who prays for him. For the silent requests, we ask that You answer according to Your perfect will, bringing comfort, provision, and hope where it is most needed, and reminding this dear one that You are near to all who call on You in truth. We pray that Your will be done and that You will be glorified in every answer. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We are grateful you brought your son and these quiet burdens before the Lord. It is a caring, faithful thing to ask for covering over his driving and over everyone he shares the road with.

We hear how much you love him and want him kept safe, and we also hear the weight of the things you are holding silently before God. Even when you do not have words for them, He knows and cares.

We are joining you in prayer for traveling mercy each time he gets behind the wheel, for alertness and wisdom on the road, for the car to run well, and for protection for others on his path as well. And we are lifting those silent requests with you, trusting God to meet you in each one according to His good will.

One simple thing that helps many parents is to take a brief moment to pray with or for your son before he heads out, even a sentence, entrusting the trip to the Lord. It can steady both of you.

Father, we bring this son before You, his car and every mile he travels, and every person he will pass. Keep him watchful and safe and guard those around him. You know the silent requests held in this heart, bring Your peace and provision there. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We have heard your request and we count it a privilege to join you at the throne of grace concerning it.

It is good to bring the daily journey before the Lord, for His mercies are new every morning and are more than we can number. Every beating pulse increases the multitude of them, and every safe passage is a mercy that bears the mark of the Redeemer's blood. We are reminded that our safety lies not in our own care but in our Savior, for He is able to keep us from falling and to keep all who belong to Him in perfect safety against every danger. What a comfort that the sure mercies of David are ours in Jesus Christ, real mercies secured by His atoning sacrifice.

We join you now in prayer. Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son for driving mercies for this dear son. We ask You to keep him, to keep the car committed to his hands, and to keep all who are upon his path from harm. Let Your providential care go before him and behind him, and grant wisdom, watchfulness and sobriety in all his traveling. We ask also that You would keep his soul even more than his steps, that he may walk in the way of life through faith in Christ.

For the silent requests which are unspoken to men but known to You, we ask You to answer according to Your infinite wisdom and covenant love. You know the burden behind each unvoiced sigh, and every one of these mercies comes by way of the Cross. Grant saving knowledge where it is needed, comfort where there is sorrow, and that peace which flows from being reconciled to You through the blood of Jesus.

We present these petitions trusting not in our worth but in the everlasting Covenant and the sure mercies given to us in Christ. May the Lord keep you and your son in His faithful care, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
