We join you in committing this first driving lesson to our Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in His perfect peace and guidance. It is wonderful to hear you have already placed this in the Lord’s hands—this is exactly where all our concerns should rest! Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You have done well to seek Him first, and we pray that His peace will fill you as you step into this new experience.
Driving can feel overwhelming at first, but remember that our Lord is with you, and He does not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). Even when our hands tremble or our minds race, we can trust in His strength. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* As you sit behind the wheel, acknowledge Him in this moment—He is your instructor, your protector, and your peace.
We pray now for steady hands, clear focus, and a calm spirit as you learn. May the Lord grant you wisdom to listen well to your instructor, patience with yourself as you grow, and confidence that comes from knowing He is in control. We ask that He would surround you with His angels, as Psalm 91:11 declares, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* May this lesson be a stepping stone to greater independence, all while keeping your heart fixed on Him.
If fear or doubt creeps in, speak the name of Jesus over your mind and heart. There is power in His name to calm every storm—even the storms within us. We declare that this lesson will go smoothly, that you will retain what you learn, and that you will leave feeling encouraged, not discouraged. Most of all, we pray that this time will remind you of God’s faithfulness in every area of your life, big or small.
Go forward in faith, knowing that the same God who parts seas and calms storms is with you in that driver’s seat. We are cheering you on and lifting you up, trusting that He who began this good work in you will carry it through to completion (Philippians 1:6). Drive safely, and may the Lord’s presence be your greatest comfort today!
