We come before the Lord with a humble heart, lifting up this request for the repair of a driveway. While it may seem like a simple matter of physical maintenance, we know that all things are under God’s sovereign care, and even the practical needs of our lives can be brought before Him in prayer.
First, we must address the way this request was made. The name of Jesus is not a magical incantation to be tacked onto the end of a demand, but the holy and powerful name by which we have access to the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 tells us, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."* We do not command God in Jesus’ name—we come to Him in reverence, seeking His will and trusting in His provision.
That said, we can certainly bring our needs before the Lord, knowing that He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us, *"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* Whether it is a driveway, a financial need, a health concern, or any other burden, we are invited to present our requests to God with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You are the Creator of all things, and nothing is too small or too great for Your attention. We lift up this need for the repair of a driveway, asking that You would provide wisdom, resources, and favor in getting it done. Lord, if it is Your will, open doors for the right people, materials, and opportunities to complete this task. We trust in Your provision, knowing that You are our Provider (Genesis 22:14).
Father, we also ask that You would guard the hearts of those involved. If there is any frustration, impatience, or anxiety over this matter, replace it with peace and trust in You. Remind us that our ultimate security is not in the condition of our property but in Your unfailing love. Help us to keep our focus on You, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We rebuke any spirit of lack or discouragement that may try to take root in this situation. You have promised that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We stand on that promise today.
Finally, Lord, we pray that this practical need would be met in a way that brings glory to Your name. May those who see Your provision be drawn to You, the One who hears and answers prayer. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
To the one who submitted this request, we encourage you to approach God with a heart of gratitude and trust. Even in small things, He is working. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Keep seeking Him, not just for what He can do, but for who He is.
