Dream House Just Out of Reach

Sylor

Disciple of Prayer
This Saturday we have a showing on our house. We need it to sell. God, please let the buyers make an offer. There is a beautiful farmhouse for sale 3 minutes from my sister, and if we can sell this house now, we can get that one. Jesus I pray!

We hear your heart’s longing and the desire to move forward in faith, trusting God with the sale of your home and the opportunity to purchase another that would bring you closer to family. The Lord knows the desires of your heart, and He cares deeply about the details of your life. We join with you in prayer, asking the Father to open doors that no man can shut and to close those that are not His will for you.

First, we want to encourage you with the truth that God is your Provider. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Whether this farmhouse is part of His plan for you or not, He will provide a home that is perfect for your family and His purposes. We pray that if this home is His will, He would make the way clear, softening the hearts of the buyers to make a fair and timely offer, and granting you favor in every step of the process.

However, we must also gently remind you to surrender this desire fully to the Lord. It is easy to become so focused on a specific outcome that we lose sight of God’s greater plan. Proverbs 16:9 says, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." We pray that you would trust Him completely, even if the path looks different than you expect. Ask the Lord to align your heart with His will, so that whatever happens, you can say with confidence, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord" (Job 1:21).

Let us also lift up the practical aspects of this situation. We pray for wisdom in negotiations, clarity in decision-making, and peace in the midst of uncertainty. May the Lord give you patience if the process takes longer than you hope, and may He guard your heart from anxiety. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

Finally, we want to rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt that may be trying to creep into your heart. The enemy would love to steal your peace and make you question God’s goodness. But we stand on the promise that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that you will not be shaken by circumstances, but will rest in the assurance that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we come before You now on behalf of our brother and sister in Christ. Lord, You see their hearts and their desire to be near family and to find a home that suits their needs. We ask that You would move mightily in the sale of their current home and in the potential purchase of this farmhouse. If it is Your will, open every door and remove every obstacle. If it is not Your will, close the door gently and reveal Your better plan for them. Give them supernatural peace, wisdom, and trust in You. Guard their hearts from fear, doubt, and impatience. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way as they wait on You. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who holds all things together and who works all things for the good of those who love Him. Amen.

We know that feeling of watching a showing date approach, and we’re praying with you this week. There’s so much wrapped up in those walls, not just a sale price, but a path toward living near your sister and the life you’re hoping to build. We lift the showing with you, asking Jesus to go before you and order the details you can’t control.

As we hold this in prayer, we also remember that even a good move like this can quietly unsettle a household. The disruption of preparing for showings, the emotional weight of leaving, sometimes we overlook what that’s doing to the people we love most. One practical way to steady your family through this is simply to carve out even a few minutes this week to sit together and let each person name what they’re feeling about leaving. You don’t need to fix anything; you’re just giving them room to be heard, which helps more than we often realize.

Our hope rests in who God is, not in whether an offer arrives by Saturday, though we genuinely ache for that outcome with you. He is present with you in the waiting, and waiting seasons have a strange way of drawing us deeper into trusting him rather than just chasing the answer. We’re standing with you in that trust.

Lord Jesus, you see this family and the hope they have for a home near loved ones. We ask you to bring a buyer, we ask it boldly, and to steady their hearts while they wait. Give them clarity, protect their unity, and in the meantime make your presence the real shelter they need. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

How readily the heart clings to a vision of earthly comfort! The farmhouse near your sister, the timing of the sale, the offer that would set all in order, these looms so large that the soul attaches its peace to a transaction of brick and timber. There is a fever in this reaching after a thing just out of grasp, and I would have you examine whether you are building your house upon a rock, or upon the sand. For the rains descend, the floods come, and the winds blow upon every life; that house alone stands which is founded upon Christ and obedience to His sayings. Are you so fixed upon the dream house that you would count yourself undone if Providence withholds it? The Lord permits the sell, but He may employ a delay to draw you nearer to Himself, for He is near to them that are of a broken heart.

Consider the house of feasting you imagine, the family gatherings, the happiness of proximity. These are not evil in themselves, for a family feast is a pleasant thing. Yet even innocent joys become a snare when we grasp them as though they were our chief good. The heart that cries, "Give me Christ, or else I die!" finds that the nearness of the Master eclipses every plan. If the house sells, see that you do not fall down and worship the provision rather than the Provider. Judgment must begin at the House of God, and if He grants the desire, He will expect holiness, the law of His house, to govern all that takes place within those walls. Will that farmhouse be a place where grace flows forth, or where worldly ease stifles the spirit?

There is a Providence in dreams and in delays that silences our fretting. Pilate’s wife suffered many things in a dream, and the Lord may be speaking through your present suspense to show you what really occupies the throne of your affections. The house you long for is a mercy, but it is only a vessel in the great house of the Lord, a room in the mansion where many dwell and none go hungry. Do not set your hope upon the vessel; set it upon Him who orders all things for His own glory. If He grants the sale and the purchase, you must hold it as a steward, ready to entertain Christ in every room. If He withholds, what then? Is He not enough?

Pray, then, but pray as one who has learned to draw near with reverent boldness. Let your petition be this: "Lord, if this thing may be for Thy glory and my soul’s good, give it; if not, remove the craving and give me Thyself instead." Call upon Him while He is near, for in the very act of anxious desire, He is near you, though you may not recognize it. The burning of disappointment, the heat of waiting, these may be the very tokens that His presence is at work to purify. Lay the farmhouse, the showing, the offer, all at the feet of Jesus Christ. Trust Him, and He is yours. Whether you dwell in that beautiful place or in a humbler shelter, the house founded on the Rock shall never fall.
