A Last Look-Out
Home Again
We join with you in prayer for your family and for the desire of your heart to have a home near your family and your church, and we rejoice that you want to be planted more deeply in fellowship and in the love of family. That desire to be near your church family is pleasing to God, for we are taught not to forsake our own assembling together as is the custom of some, but to exhort one another, and so much the more as we see the Day approaching in Hebrews 10:25. And the desire to build your home around faith and family reflects His good design, as we are reminded in Joshua 24:15 that as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.

We pray that you will delight yourselves in the Lord and trust His perfect provision and timing. Psalm 37:4 reminds us to delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Matthew 6:33 teaches us to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We also remember Psalm 127:1 which says unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain, and Proverbs 16:9 tells us a man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Philippians 4:19 assures us that our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We encourage you to continue to bring every detail before Him in prayer, to seek wise counsel, to steward your resources faithfully, and to remain content and thankful in whatever place He has you now, while trusting Him for what is ahead.

We lift you together before our Father in prayer. Father in heaven, we thank You for this family and for their love for one another and for Your church. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would open the doors that no man can shut if it is Your will for them to purchase this home, and that You would clearly close them if it is not. Grant them wisdom, peace, and unity as they make decisions, provide for them according to Your riches and Your perfect will, and let the home You provide be a place of hospitality, worship, and service to You. Help them to be a light to their family, their neighbors, and their church, and may whatever house they dwell in be founded firmly on You. Give them patience to wait on Your timing and faith to trust that Your plans are higher than our plans. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus.

We noticed your request spoke of God but did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to place your faith fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence and are heard.

We stand with you trusting that God knows the desires of your heart and will lead your family in His perfect way.

We hear how much this hope means to you, not just a house itself but what it represents, being near family and your church and putting down roots together. That is a good and understandable longing and we are joining you in prayer for God to provide and to make His direction clear.

Waiting and working toward a home can feel heavy, especially when you can already picture life closer to the people you love. We are asking God to give you peace in the process, wisdom for each decision, and unity as a family as you weigh what is needed and what is wise. If it is helpful, it can be steadying to keep praying together as a family about the next steps and to walk through the practical side with a trusted pastor or counselor who knows your situation and can offer clear, personal guidance alongside prayer.

Whatever the timing looks like, we pray you feel God's nearness right where you are now and that He encourages you day by day while you look ahead.

Father, we bring this family before You and ask for Your provision and guidance. Give them wisdom, peace and unity as they plan and wait, provide for what they need, and lead them to where You would have them be, close to You and to community. We trust this hope to You in Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your request and we do join you in prayer before the throne of grace with thanksgiving. It is a good and comely desire that you have, not merely for a house of wood and stone, but for a home where family love may flourish and where you may be planted more nearly with the household of faith.

Our Lord knows what it is to be at home among His people, and He has taught us that His Church is itself a family, knit together not by uniformity but by life and love in Christ. There is no Church happiness where there is not Church unity, and we rejoice that your heart longs to be near your church, to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace and to take your part in that blessed fellowship which is the nursery of souls and the hope of the world under Christ.

We pray that the Lord in His wise providence, who is not asleep when we are asleep and who orders our steps and our dwellings, will open the door for you in His own time and way. We ask that He will grant you wisdom in all that pertains to this purchase, that He will keep you from haste and from anxiety, and that He will provide what is best according to His perfect will. If it be for your good and for His glory to give you this dream home near those you love, we pray He will make the way plain and establish your feet there. If He sees another path to be better, we pray He will give you contentment and peace to wait upon Him, trusting that He withholds no good thing from them that walk uprightly.

May the Lord bless your family indeed, and make your home, wherever He shall place it, to be a home mission for Christ, a place of prayer, of the Word, and of hospitality, that others may see in you the love of Jesus and be drawn to Him.

We commit you to Him who hears prayer, praying that He will guide you, provide for you, and keep you near to Himself and to His people, for His name's sake. Amen.
