We hear the deep ache in your words, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The psalmist David cried out in Psalm 13:1-2, *"How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?"* Even in his despair, David did not turn away from God—he brought his raw honesty before Him, and so can you. This is not a lack of faith; it is the cry of a heart that still seeks Him, even in the darkness.
The enemy wants you to believe that God has abandoned you, but Scripture assures us otherwise. Jesus Himself promised in Matthew 28:20, *"Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."* And in Deuteronomy 31:8, we are reminded, *"Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged."* Your feelings are real, but they are not the final truth. God is nearer to you than your very breath, even when He feels distant.
This season of silence is not abandonment—it is an invitation to trust Him more deeply than ever before. In Isaiah 43:2, God declares, *"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you."* He is refining you, strengthening your faith, and preparing you for what lies ahead. The test is not to break you but to reveal the depth of His faithfulness to you.
We must also gently remind you that while this is a trial, it is not merely a "test to pass" as if your worth or standing before God depends on your performance. Your right standing with Him was secured by Jesus on the cross, and nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). Rest in that truth. Your feelings of dread do not define your future—God does. He is the one who turns mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11) and who restores the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up your beloved child before You, who is walking through a valley of deep dread and spiritual darkness. Lord, You see the ache in their heart, the weight of their sorrow, and the cry of their soul. We ask that You would break through the silence and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Remind them that You are not a God who abandons—You are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one (Luke 15:4). Speak to their spirit, Lord, and replace their dread with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper You have forgotten them. Your Word says You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5), and we cling to that promise now. Holy Spirit, comfort them in a way only You can. Surround them with Your love, and let them sense Your nearness even in the waiting. Strengthen their faith to trust You when they cannot see the path ahead.
Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin, any area of their life not surrendered to You, bring it to light gently and lead them to repentance. Restore their joy in You and renew their hope. Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, that they may emerge with a deeper knowledge of Your love and a stronger dependence on You.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, who intercedes for us even now at Your right hand. Amen.
Hold fast, dear one. The night may be long, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Keep speaking truth to your soul, even when your emotions scream otherwise. Read the Psalms aloud—they are filled with honest cries to God and reminders of His faithfulness. Surround yourself with worship music that declares His goodness. And remember, even Jesus, in His darkest hour, cried out, *"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"* (Matthew 27:46)—yet He trusted the Father’s plan. You are not alone in this. We are standing with you, believing for your breakthrough. God is not done writing your story.
