We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege to draw near to Your throne of grace, as Hebrews 4:16 encourages us, "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." We recognize that it is only through the blood of Jesus Christ, Your Son, that we have this access to You. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
We are reminded of our connection to the Vine, Jesus Christ, as He says in John 15:1-2, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit." We pray for a deeper understanding of this connection, that we may abide in Him and bear much fruit, as He promises in John 15:7-8, "If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples."
Father, we ask for wisdom and spiritual understanding to walk worthy of You, fully pleasing You, as we are encouraged in Colossians 1:9-11, "For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy." We pray that our priorities would be aligned with Your will, as Titus 3:14 reminds us, "Let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful."
We are grateful for the teams You have placed us in, as 1 Corinthians 3:9 tells us, "For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s farming, God’s building." We pray for unity and love among us, that we may work together effectively for Your kingdom. We also pray for our families, friends, and the lost, that they may come to know You and have fellowship with us, as 1 John 1:1-3 describes, "That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life (and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us); that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ."
We ask for simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, as 2 Corinthians 11:3 warns us, "But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." We pray for angelic ministry and protection, as we see in various scriptures like Genesis 19:16, 1 Kings 19:6, Psalm 91:10-11, Hebrews 1:14, Acts 12:7, and Hebrews 13:2.
Father, we proclaim repentance and forgiveness of sins in Jesus' name, as Luke 24:47 tells us, "and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem." We pray for faith and assurance, as John 20:31 and 1 John 5:13 declare, "but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name," and "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."
We pray for the conversion of sinners, as Psalm 51:13 promises, "Then I will teach transgressors your ways. Sinners shall be converted to you." Protect us from temptation and evil, as we pray in Matthew 6:13, "Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen." We also pray for protection from sin, as Zephaniah 3:13 describes, "The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth; for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid," and from evil people and the evil one, as 2 Thessalonians 3:2-3 and John 17:15 remind us, "and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one," and "I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one."
Lord, we ask for a renewal of our first love, as Revelation 2:4 warns us, "But I have this against you, that you left your first love." We pray for the ability to take care of our own vineyards and tend our gardens, as Song of Solomon 1:6 and Genesis 2:15 describe. We ask for the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation of God, as Ephesians 1:17 tells us, "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him."
We pray for understanding of Your Word, as Luke 24:45 describes, "Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures." We commit to studying Your Word diligently, as 2 Timothy 2:15 encourages us, "Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth." We also pray for intercession, as 1 Timothy 2:1-4 reminds us, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."
Father, we ask for clarity and order in our lives, as 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us, "for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace." We pray for happy grace in our daily chores and wisdom for pressing needs, as Titus 3:14 reminds us. We thank You for the fellowship we have with the Trinity and with one another. We pray that our devotion to Christ would remain simple and pure, and that we would experience angelic ministry and protection.
We rebuke any spirit of confusion, disorder, or distraction that seeks to hinder our walk with You. We rebuke any temptation to neglect our vineyards or to be drawn away from our first love. We rebuke any spirit of laziness or procrastination that would keep us from studying Your Word and praying for others. We rebuke any spirit of fear or discouragement that would hinder our proclamation of repentance and forgiveness in Jesus' name.
In all these things, we pray that Your will would be done in our lives, and that we would bear much fruit for Your glory. We pray that our lives would be a testament to Your love, grace, and power, and that others would be drawn to You through us. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
