PRAYER REQUEST
My name is Dr. Ben Attah, the pastor of New Light Covenant Church in Nigeria. I really need you and your team of ministers to intercede to God on my behalf. I started a work for the Lord on the 9th of April 2006. Initially, everything seemed to be going on fine. God really helped us; we acquired a property worth $560,000 and paid for it.
While we were thanking God and trying to forge ahead with membership increase, the enemy used some of my rebellious lieutenants to raise false alarms and poison the minds of members. Instead of the church increasing, the last six months has been a Herculean task. Church membership has dropped from 760 to a paltry 300. The church income has dropped significantly from $10,000 to $2,500 per month. Several factors including drop in attendance, loss of job, the present economic melt-down could be said to be responsible for all these.
Based on the two major indicators mentioned above, the church in now indebted to services providers e.g. printers, producers, generator maintenance engineers, communication providers, ISP providers, etc apart from the fact that meeting obligations like payment of staff salaries in now an uphill task.
I was a CEO of one of the top 100 companies in Nigeria up till December 2007. Deciding to work for the Lord, I also vowed not to earn salary from the Church. I have a family – my wife and 4 children. Now the ministry is like a burden. Members of my church don’t even think they should give to me since I’ve been the one giving to them. Meeting my daily requirements has been dicey.
I want you to pray for me along these lines:
1. God should encourage me in the ministry by providing for my daily family needs and upkeep supernaturally – food, clothing, automobile, housing, school fees, refreshments, fuels, utility, etc.
2. That all those members that left due to falsehood told them be visited by God and our real members should come back to the Church for worship and praise.
3. God should raise financial pillars within the Church and bring some partners from around to sponsor, promote and propagate the ministry without fail- Television broadcast, Light University, book ministry, branching out, church planting, welfare to the needy, etc
4. That God should bring some financiers my way to establish a profit oriented business that would form the base for the sponsoring of the gospel- The Light University, Light Broadcasting Networks Limited, Oil & Gas Ventures etc
5. Church Membership should explode. 5000 members by December 2010
6. Church should come out of debt and sponsor others – scholarships, orphanages etc
7. Pastors Training should be more rewarding and successful. 50 trainees in 2 years.
8. Chain Prayers and Night Prayers should be imbibed as a way of life by members.
9. Departments and Fellowships should be growing and successful.
10. God will raise an army of successful, obedient and faithful ministers in the Church who will be willing to learn and able to teach others.
I’ve praying along these lines. I strongly believe that when you and your team join me in these prayers, the result will be instant.
Thank you for being there for me.
Yours truly,
Dr. Ben Attah
