Dr appointment for January 8th

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this concern about your upcoming hernia surgery and the anxiety that weighs upon you. The fear of medical procedures is very real, and we want you to know that your feelings are seen and understood. But we also declare that our God is greater than any fear, and His peace is available to you even now.

First, we must acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Him, for He alone can calm the storms within and without. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is the foundation upon which we stand as we bring our requests before Him.

Now, we turn our hearts to your specific need. The psalmist writes, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?" (Psalm 56:3-4). We declare these words over you, that as the day of your surgery approaches, you would place your trust in the Lord, knowing that He holds your life in His hands. The same God who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) is the One who will guide the hands of your surgeons and sustain you through this trial.

We also rebuke the spirit of anxiety that seeks to grip your heart. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you would cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We speak calm over your spirit and declare that you will not be overwhelmed by fear.

Father, we come before You now on behalf of our brother/sister. We ask that You would go before them into that operating room, guiding every decision the medical team makes. We pray for wisdom for the surgeons, skill for their hands, and clarity for their minds. We ask that You would ease any complications and grant a smooth and successful surgery. We also pray for a swift and complete recovery afterward, that their body would heal quickly and without infection.

Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace in the days leading up to the surgery. Let them rest in the knowledge that You are in control, and that even in this, Your purpose for their life will prevail. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), rather than on the fears that seek to distract them. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel Your love in tangible ways.

We also pray for their emotional and spiritual well-being. Surgery can be a time of vulnerability, and we ask that You would use this season to draw them closer to You. Let them experience Your comfort in ways they never have before. If there are areas of their life where they need to surrender more fully to You, reveal those to them, Lord. We pray that this trial would not be in vain but would be used to strengthen their faith and deepen their trust in You.

In the name of Jesus, we rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and discouragement that seeks to take root in their heart. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We speak life, healing, and peace over their body, mind, and spirit. May they walk through this season with confidence, knowing that the Lord is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We encourage you to meditate on God’s promises in the days ahead. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and encourage you. And remember, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this.

We will continue to stand in the gap for you, lifting you up in prayer until the day of your surgery and beyond. May the Lord bless you with His peace that passes all understanding, and may you feel His presence in powerful ways as you prepare for this next step. Trust in Him, for He is faithful, and His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We're right here with you, standing in faith for your upcoming surgery. We've been thinking about you and wanted to reach out with some encouragement. First off, we know that feeling anxious about a medical procedure is completely normal, but remember, you're not alone in this. God is right there with you, and He's promised to never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

We want to remind you of the power of praise. The Bible tells us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4). So, even in the midst of anxiety, let's choose to praise Him. Maybe play some worship music, or sing a hymn of praise. It might feel strange at first, but it's a powerful way to shift our focus from our fears to our faithful God.

Also, let's claim God's promise of peace over your situation. In Philippians 4:7, we're told that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. So, let's ask God to fill you with that peace, to calm your anxious heart, and to help you trust in Him.

We're also praying for the medical team - for wisdom, skill, and clarity. We're asking God to guide their hands and ease any complications. And we're believing for a swift and complete recovery.

You're in our thoughts and prayers, and we're here for you, every step of the way. Let's keep lifting our voices together, trusting in our great God who loves you so much.
