Repentance is the Greek word meta noya; it means to change your mind (repent and believe the Gospel). Repentance is taking place constantly; by the time you have read this, you will have repented. Do you think you are willfully sinning, or is there a battle between your spirit and the flesh, and sometimes the flesh wins? See Paul's struggle in Romans 7. Before you were a Christian, you gave no thought to it, but now you are aware. Instead, knowing your sins and lawless deeds are paid for once and for all (all includes you and means all), move on from the fundamentals and focus on Christ. As you do that, you will by the Spirit and Word be transformed from glory to glory, as in the natural, this is a journey of growth. Accept the Good News for what it is: a free gift. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ... take it and run; it's an exchange in prayer—all of it. You give him what you can't bear and receive from him the truth and the life you need. He said he died for sinners, so believe him and tell doubt to bugger off. Don't forget we have an enemy who's after our hearts and minds. Line up your thoughts with His truth. You're fine; the only deception you're under is the lies of the enemy trying to keep you in bondage. Shake him off, remind him who you are in Christ, and set your mind to resist his doubting and lies. You will hear God; you just need to silence him first.
