I listened to a message of TD Jakes on YouTube (don't listen to the chatter!) I think of the Pharisees speaking of Jesus and trying to test him and question him just like we all get tested. I know for me when I get criticized even when I did something nice for someone it is really hard to want to help someone again. I remember giving someone a ride when it was especially hot and this person didn't have a car and looked like they needed help and when they came in my car I asked where they were going and told me and after the fact that I am doing them a favor by taking them to where they need to go. They criticized me about how messy my car was. I said to them, "You mean to complain that my car is messy and I am doing you a favor of giving you a ride." I just pulled over the first place I could and told them to get off. They said, "But I need to go further." I said, "That's what you get for criticizing me when I am trying to do something nice for you." This happened a long time ago and I had a shorter temper then. I have learned to be more tolerant of people's behavior and I know I am being tested all the time and I know there are people getting impatient with this quarantine and people just like myself are anxious for things to get back to normal. I did something really nice for my little grandson this weekend. I made him a special breakfast and decorated pancakes in the shape of an Easter bunny and decorated a banana to look like sushi and it gave me joy to do it and just watch his face light up! My wife saw it and was amazed, but of course she had to get on my case when he said he was hungry for lunch and there was plenty of food from breakfast and something else and something else! I remember to ignore the chatter and the criticism. I signed a contract with Instacart and to work another part-time job to bring more income and my wife insisted on taking me to Costco so I can secure the job. She did nothing but complain about this and that and then after Costco we went to go see her aunt that was in the hospital and she said she would drop me off so I can go see her aunt because I am an employee and I asked permission because of the COVID-19 and the limit of visitors especially the elderly. When I left my wife's aunt's daughters texted my wife and thanked me and even my wife thanked me and then on our way home the complaining continued! I learned to be grateful for what I do have and since I try to not listen to the chatter from people I feel much better!! I listen to my music that I play percussion in my symphonic band and love to play it wherever I go! Lord, I pray to be more tolerant of people and don't listen to the chatter and negativity and focus on you, Lord! In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen!!
