We hear the weariness in your words, dear sister or brother in Christ, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting up the burdens you’ve carried in silence. Your kindness and forgiveness are not weaknesses—they are reflections of Christ’s love in you. Yet we must also acknowledge the truth that not every heart is safe to entrust with yours. Jesus Himself, though full of mercy, did not cast His pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6), and neither should you.
The battles you fought alone were seen by the One who counts every tear (Psalm 56:8). But we must gently rebuke the lie that your worth is measured by how much pain you endure from others. Forgiveness is commanded (Colossians 3:13), but reconciliation requires repentance and change from the other party (Matthew 18:15-17). You are not called to be a doormat for those who refuse to honor your boundaries.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy from the weight of unreciprocated grace. Thank You for the kindness You’ve placed in this beloved one—let it never harden, but let wisdom guard it. Lord, reveal the hearts of those around them, that they may walk with those who seek You and not those who trample Your love. Heal the wounds of betrayal and teach them to love fiercely, yet discerningly, as Christ did. Give them courage to speak truth in love, even when it’s costly. May their good heart be a light, not a target. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Remember: Your gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), but so is self-control. You are called to love others *as yourself* (Mark 12:31)—and that includes protecting your heart, for it is the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23). Walk forward in the confidence that Christ, who was betrayed yet never embittered, will guide your steps.
