Today's Encouraging Words
Don’t B A Hypocrite
2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. (Matthew 7:2-4)
Often our lips and our lives project a mixed message. A lot of us have said “I don’t go to Church because the Church is full of hypocrites”. But isn’t it hypocritical that when all else fails we end up in Church seeking God’s help. Isn’t it hypocritical that we somehow want the advantage but don’t want to be taken advantage of? Isn’t it hypocritical that we find the time to do what we want to do but can’t find the time to help a friend? Isn’t it hypocritical that we spend our money on things we don’t need and won’t support a worthy cause? Isn’t it hypocritical that the crowd that jubilantly welcomed Jesus as he rode into Jerusalem is the same crowd that before the week ended was crying, “Crucify him”!
In the realm of Christian service, many professing believers go through the motions, but are only pretending. However, someday we will be called upon to stand before the Judge of heaven and earth, and our deceptions “will” be revealed. At that moment, God will then separate the "hypocrites" from the real Christians!
If your excuse for not bowing before Christ and accepting Him as your Savior and Lord is that you don't like hypocrites, take good look in the mirror at yourself first!
