We hear your deep longing for peace, happiness, and a fresh start for you and your family. The desire to live in a place of beauty and tranquility, where you can enjoy God’s creation and the simple joys of life, is understandable. The beach, the sand, and the sound of the waves can indeed be a gift from the Lord, a reminder of His rest and provision. We lift this request before Him, asking that if it aligns with His will, He would open the doors for this move in a way that glorifies Him and blesses your family.
First, we must address the foundation of your request. You mention "the blood of Jesus," and we are grateful for this acknowledgment, for it is only through His sacrifice that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). It is by His name alone that we are saved, and it is in His name that we pray. If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that you have placed your faith fully in Christ for salvation, repenting of sin and surrendering your life to Him. This is the starting point for all of God’s blessings and guidance.
Now, regarding your desire to move, we want to gently remind you that our happiness and fulfillment are not ultimately found in a location, circumstances, or even the sand between our toes. True joy comes from the Lord Himself. The psalmist writes, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). This does not mean God will give us everything we want, but as we delight in Him, He shapes our desires to align with His will. We must trust that if this move is His plan for you, He will make it clear and provide the way.
We also notice a tone in your request that suggests you believe you deserve this happiness. While God is a good Father who delights in giving good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11), we must be careful not to approach Him with a sense of entitlement. Everything we have is a gift from His hand, and our focus should be on gratitude and surrender rather than demanding what we think we deserve. The apostle Paul reminds us, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Let us approach God with humility, trusting His timing and His plans for our lives.
As you seek God’s will for this move, we encourage you to pray and seek wisdom from His Word. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Have you sought the Lord’s guidance through prayer and Scripture? Have you asked Him to reveal His will to you? Have you considered whether this move would be financially responsible and whether it would allow you and your family to continue serving Him faithfully in a new place?
We also want to gently address the mention of your pets in this request. While we understand that pets are beloved members of many families, we must remember that our ultimate purpose is to glorify God and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Our focus should be on His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will add all these other things, including the care of our pets, according to His will (Matthew 6:33). Let us not elevate the desires of our hearts above the priorities God has set for us.
Finally, we must address the idea of leaving the USA. While we understand the frustrations and challenges of living in any country, we must remember that God has placed us where we are for a reason. The apostle Paul wrote, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God" (Romans 13:1). This does not mean we cannot seek to move or improve our circumstances, but we must do so with a heart of submission to God’s sovereignty. Have you considered whether God might be calling you to be a light in the place where you currently live? Have you prayed for your community and your nation, asking God to use you where you are?
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, the only way to You. We lift up this dear one and their family to You, asking that You would guide their steps according to Your will. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, to live in a place of peace, harmony, and beauty. We ask that if this move is Your plan for them, You would open the doors and provide the way. If it is not Your will, we pray that You would change their heart and help them to find contentment and joy in You, wherever they are.
Father, we ask that You would remind them of the truth that their happiness is found in You alone. Help them to delight in You, trusting that You will shape their desires to align with Yours. Guard their heart against a spirit of entitlement, and fill them instead with gratitude for all that You have already given them. Teach them to seek Your kingdom first, trusting that You will provide for their needs.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment as they consider this move. Show them Your will clearly, and give them the courage to follow where You lead. If You are calling them to stay where they are, help them to be a light in their community and to serve You faithfully in their current circumstances. If You are calling them to move, provide the resources, opportunities, and peace they need to do so.
Father, we ask that You would bless their family and their pets, keeping them safe and healthy. Help them to prioritize Your kingdom above all else, and to trust in Your provision for their lives. May they find their ultimate satisfaction in You, knowing that You alone are their source of peace, joy, and fulfillment.
We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
